Separate macro for day of week, month or year from the Event_Date macro
We would like a date macro that just contains the date, i.e. 5th February 2010 and does not have ", Friday" added at the end as Event_Date does at present.
We use this in our event announcements emails like this:
You are invited to {EventTitle} to be held at {Location} on {EventDate} starting at {Event_Time}
and having "Friday" inserted in that sentence makes little sense.

I would like to insert the day of the week (eg Saturday) when entering the date of an event.
It seems that we have members that need that additional information.
Thanks

I would like to see a Macro for Event Month. Day of Month and Year of Event Macros may also be useful.

Margaret,
The date format, that is substituted for Event_Date Macro, is taken from Organization details settings. You can select the format with day of week, like 'Fri, December 12, 2017' or 'Friday, December 12, 2017' and all dates will have this format.
Unfortunately, there is no way to specify this format for events only or include Day of week / Year / Month separately into emails. So the only solution now is to define date format in Organization details settings with or without day of week, depends on your needs.

I'm baffled by this request, as my event date does *not* show DOW and I'd LIKE it to.
Is there something I'm missing? -

Inserting the day of the week does make sense to me, as most people organize their schedules this way, especially if there is family involved and weekly, ongoing activities. On Mondays, I am free, but on Tues, I have yoga.
Please add the option for dates to be day of the week, month, and date, such as Fri, Sept 23, 2016.

I'd like a macro that would allow me to insert Day of Week. Or a Date macro that took some format options. Thank you.

I'd like the day of the week to be flexible--On the Event Detail page, I would like it to show the day of the week plus the date.
When sending reminder or announcement emails, sometimes I want the day of the week, sometimes not.
Allowing to select the format, or providing a separate macro that separates the day from date could accomplish this. -

I'd like to see an easy way of formatting the date macro - then I could change the format (mm/d/yyyy), pick just the parts that I wanted (m/d), or pick if the day of the week is included.

It would be great if you put either a separate macro for the weekday or let people toggle on/off the weekday in the macro with a check-box.
I had a template design with the weekday on a separate line but there is no way to break it after the macro, So the weekday, month day year have to be put in each event announcement, reminder and confirm by hand.
This could be solved if you had custom fields/macros in the events area. You could add a few blank macros/fields (mind you I understand this may not be so simple) with generic name e.g. "Event_Macro_A", "Event_Macro_B" and then it can be used anyway for any field that is needed for the user.
Thanks,
M
