Allow multiple online payment gateways in one WA account
(Re-posted and edited from post below)
We have 2 organizations, one that manages the membership and the other our tax-deductible contributions. As such we have 2 different bank accounts and therefore need 2 different payment gateways. We're signed up with authorize.net, however there's only one global setting in WA for online payments. If it were possible to choose a payment method, for instance one for membership and another for donations, that solve the problem of having to set up 2 WA accounts.
For now I've set up 2 accounts and am working with the widgets. This is a good work-around, however the members will need to fill out 2 different profiles and they can't view all the information in their accounts at once.
Update: The donation form widget sort of works from one WA account to another. However, the event widget works perfectly! I set up our sponsorships as events and pasted the code into the main site. It looks great.

+1 more. We represent a half dozen WA association accounts that are also related to Political Action Committees. There are strict rules on co-mingling donations with none PAC activities. Today, we can't use WA for these PAC donations because we can only associate one payment gateway per WA account. Please help.

Jennifer, the answer is no - this is why it is still in the wishlist.

Please is there any new update on this issue? I have a c3 and a c4. We have yet to "go live" with the website but I have been using the system since May (after using it previously at another org). Trying to decide which organization to link to in W.A. (thinking other entity would have to bill the other - a real pain). Seasonally we typically have more transactions with one or the other organization but over the course of the year it is about even. Please tell me this issue has been resolved and I can direct different things to the two different entities! Curious about the widget work around.

I am also interested in adding a second payment gateway, but for a couple of different reasons. We are the largest ski club in the country, with over 500 annual events, and 500 ski trip participants. Some of our trips can cost as much as $5K. Our requirements for these large $$$ events is much different than for our smaller events. For example, on our ski trips we collect a deposit up front, often up to 9 months prior to the actual trip. 90 days prior to the trip we collect the balance, and also offer a 3-payment installment plan. We can only implement this in WA through the use of manual invoicing methods. Stripe offers better functionality for these types of events than Paypal does.
We are also very unhappy with Paypal right now for arbitrarily blocking some of our members large credit card purchases, without proper notification. We would like to try Stripe, and at first just accept payments through their dashboard. After a "test drive" we might wish to convert to Stripe entirely.
Multiple payment gateways would allow us the flexibility to use different gateways for different events, and for larger transactions. It would also give us the flexibility to try different gateways before selecting a final solution.

We have a donations account as well as a regular account for events and membership. The Donations account HAS TO BE separate due to rules we must follow for the organization. We cannot link up two different payment accounts to this website. So we have to use an external payment processor for donations and then integrate the other option. It would be great to use this platform more fully by allowing us to use multiple merchant accounts for different purposes (ie: donations, events, membership).

In one of the non-profits I support, there is a need to setup different Events with different Paypal accounts. Thus, a June Event might go to Paypal Account #1. A July Event might go to Paypal Account #2. Etc, Etc. Thus, what I would like to see is the ability within a specific event to select a Paypal account for the event.

Our organization has both US and Canada fees and we would therefore like to have multiple payment options within the site: one linked to our CA accounts and the other linked to our US accounts.

We are evaluating Wild Apricot and have two entities and would like to be able to collect contributions for both. While hopefully not a dealbreaker, it would be much easier to sell to the board if there was an easy way to have contributions flow to either the c3 or c4 arms of our organization.

Yes, we agree with this feature. We currently have two main bank accounts. One for Membership Dues and one account for Events.
We like to keep these separate to help us manage our operations and it would be great to have multiple payment options.
Thanks.

We need two bank accounts to donate to and Wild Apricot only allows one.

Ability to have more than one PayPal account so that members of a group could pay for their group events online to a difference account than our association account.

Like many Associations, CBN NOVA has a chapter structure to facilitate meetings on the local level in regions within Northern Virginia. Each chapter has control of its own funds collected for regular chapter meetings, while membership dues goes to the main association or "mothership." Since Wild Apricot did not furnish a method to have multiple (PayPal or bank) accounts when registering, we had to do a "work around" via JotForm. This seems to have worked well, but it still would be preferable for WA to offer this feature instead.

I first tuned into this subject a year ago and saw that there were many requesting it. I have a District membership that covers 3 states with about 700 members. The membership is broken down into 27 clubs and each have their own accounting. I need a seperate payment account for each club and I had hoped that within a year, that this might become available. Currently we are stuck collecting dues without the benefit of this application.
Evgeny, in the last post, pointed us to the road map. That was easier than saying that this item is listed as in the "Analysis queue" That means that they are waiting for someone to analyse the problem so that they can put it in a development queue that will eventually make it to a developement team and then to beta testing before releasing.
Basically, pay your increase cost starting this June but don't hold your breath for this item for a couple year is my guess. Not unless the payment increase is to add on more analysis and developers - Please????

I also think having more flexibility in the merchant service connectivity would be beneficial. You really limit the seamless aspect of your offering to only a couple of merchant service companies. This causes some difficulties if someone like a particular merchant service provider due to pricing or whatever. Your site doesn't provide the flexibility to integrate that service provider with the check out process. I have no idea how you would approach, but clearly other member management software providers have successfully dealt with it so there must be a solution that isn't unmanageable. I suspect all merchant providers have a few key things that need to have controlled by WA because they all use the same rules and same API logic to connect. So it has to be possible. Hope you will spend some time on a solution to this issue.

I need more than one payment method because we are a non-profit and have a raffle once a year. PayPal does not allow raffles but Google Wallet did for non-profits. After Google Wallet shut down I opened a ProPay account because their rules also permit raffles for non-profits. Most people want to use PayPal so that is out main payment method but we would like to use ProPay for the raffle. Right now I am not able to do this.
Thanks,
Ian

Our non-profit membership association would love to have the ability to add more than one PayPal account!
Currently, we have one PayPal account for the association, which should be only for member dues and other membership fees. Our Association has an Annual Conference, and the membership group that is hosting the conference each year sets up a separate bank account for the conference where registration fees, sponsorship dollars, etc. are collected and all conference expenses are paid.
Since we can only have one PayPal account on Wild Apricot but our members want to be able to pay for Conference registration online, our association treasurer has to move the money between PayPal accounts - an extra step that adds to our volunteers' efforts.
We have 10 membership groups and are growing quickly. Several groups would like to be able to have online registration for their meetings and events as well, but without the ability to have additional payment channels we cannot offer this feature.
Do any other users out there have the same challenge? If so, do you have any suggestions for a better "work-around" until (hopefully!) Wild Apricot adds an enhancement?

No, I used the word chapters because that's what this community seems to use. I would prefer to use "branches". Our organisation, the Renal Society of Australasia, covers Australia and New Zealand and there are seven branches, including New Zealand, New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland etc. It's more than 5000km across the territory, so if members want to meet on a regular basis we need branches.
Membership fees are collected by the organisation as a whole, but each branch runs its own events and collects event registration fees.
We would like to be able to take online payments for events that get channeled into dedicated branch bank accounts.
