Uploading documents and photos in forum and blog posts
Is it possible that you could correct the function of the forum and blog pages to not only allow someone to add a link, but also to add a document to the page?
What downfall is there in providing this function?
Update from CMS team:
Happy to announce that this request was released to all clients in version 5.17
Members can now attach documents and images when adding or replying to a forum topic.

This thread also contains comments and requests related to inserting images into Blog posts. We decided to separate it to own thread and continue to collect your comments there. Please vote and leave your comments:

It seems as though this feature is now in the design process, which is great news. However, I wasn't able to find an ETA for this feature in the google doc presentation, nor the Roadmap link. When do you anticipate rolling this out?

The lack of easy member upload to a forum topic is sending my users to facebook... Please add the members ability to 1. upload to their own folder then past into a forum topic... The admins ability work well...

As an admin I would like members to have the ability to add photos to their blog posts, so that members can share their common history using the rich medium of photos and text together.
The website I administer is for a family interested in their common heritage. One of the things family members want to be able to share are old family photos and photos of heirlooms. Simply sharing them in a photo album is not enough as the ability to link the front and back images of the photo, plus a silhouette for labelling is not possible. Often people want to tell a story along with the photo, especially if it is an heirloom. Others in the family may have more information they could add about the photo, its contents or the heirloom. Blog posts and comments can work nicely for this as long as the blog author can add images themselves.
If there is an issue with allowing members to add photos directly to a blog post, would it be possible for a blog post to embed an image (not just a link to an image) that has already been added to a photo album?

Yes, we would like this facility as well. It just seems obvious. At present a member has to email the image to the administrator, who then has to upload and post.
BIt of a time waster.

We also would like the ability to post images and documents. Currently this is only possible by administrators, or by using external links to services such as DropBox.

My vote would be to have the ability to post both images and documents.

I see that I can do it here, but what about being able to easily post photos in forums which is something we have been requesting for a while. Can I get the same menu bar in the forums as I see here on this edit page ? Our members want this for use on our 'sell' and 'wanted' forum sites and it is similar to functionality available on other member forums so they are used to being able to do this. Being able to link to photos stored in Picasa, Photobucket, personal web site etc. rather than having to upload to WA is what is being asked for.
Thx !

The forum enhancement thread seems to be fairly outdated. Is anyone still posting to it? This is a feature that is also important to our users.

The end user cannot, but the webmaster can by editing the post.

  Hi Washoowah,
Unfortunately, inserting images into forum posts is not supported at this time.
Consider adding your thoughts to this Forum enhancements thread http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308920-archive/suggestions/8832769-forum-enhancements

Adding pictures is reserved for administrator only (for blogs, forums and pages). So, unfortunately, members cannot add any pictures to the blog comments.

Yes My members are always trying to display a picture in the forum and then talk about it (real estate properties). I know we can link but don't want to go 'outside' the site with a link...

Although this appears to be an old wishlist item. we're new to WA. So, YES our members are already clamoring for this option. In addition, we want a Photo Album option that is not linked to a member profile: where we can have themed Photo Albums and all members can add photos to the album. Of course, approved full access Administrator can delete and/or the actual post of the photos are "pending approval". It would be nice if it operated as a functional page w/the options for Everyone access and/or Members Only access.. etc.
Thanks
My apologies if you've developed the above... I just haven't found it yet!
