Add system status to Admin Dashboard
If there is a known outage, WA should have a section in the account admin dashboard where it alerts admins of known issues. IE - this week there was an email send outage/issue... if you had posted this in admin dashboard, the admins can see that this is being addressed and not spend needless time trying to figure out why their emails are not sending.

I'm actually surprised that you don't have some sort of statuspage.io or statuscast.com implementation to help customers. That way you wouldn't even need to add it to the admin pages but customers could subscribe to alerts and get notifications when problems occur.
A status message alone would be useless. There should be updates letting admins know what is being done to address the issue and an ETA to have it fixed. Hourly updates would be needed if not more often.
