Add the ability to override the default tax settings for online store purchases, so you can charge different rates based on the purchaser’s location.

along the same vein, we sell items that are taxable (swag) and non-taxable (food), so the determination should be by item. and of course, actual rate taxed should be by recipient postal code.

Yes please, this would is very much needed. According to Revenue Canada, GST on digital products are charged based on the province that the PURCHASER resides in. Some provinces have GST combined with the provincial tax (Harmonized Sales Tax). We have already defined our taxes, but they work everywhere except the online store. We are forced to use WooCommerce on our website, when we'd prefer to sell products meant only for our members in Wild Apricot.
Please consider making this change very soon. :) Thank you.

I can't image any online store that will not allow for sales tax rules based on ship to location. All online stores need this capability. would like to see this added to critical list of enhancements. You are pretty much there with the override function, just simply code the store to do a look up based on shipping address. Seems like it would not require much more coding.

Need a way to distinguish between taxable and non-taxable items in the store. For instance, services may not be taxable. This is different from a tax-exempt buyer.

Please add this feature. We need it to correctly charge our Canadian customers tax on their purchase. Since Wild Apricot does not support this, we have to spend extra time and resources figuring out a solution.

I wonder why the same tax rules are not applied to the online store ? Only the default tax rule, if it is set at all, is applied but all the other tax rules are ignored. This really is a bug in my opinion.

Pretty important. Disappointed to learn that I need to continue to run another online store for this reason alone. Why wouldn't this have been part of the original scope of work? Keep us posted please!

Yes please make this add. The online store will not work for us without this feature, which will mean we need to look for another host.
We need to be able to have some items with no taxes ( ie gift certificates), some items with one tax (ie books just have one tax) and the majority of items that have two taxes. Without this, we cannot host our shop here, and we'd much rather just stay. Thanks! -

TAX settings: Allow for different tax setting in the store... EX books sold anywhere in Canada is 5%. But if I want to sell a journal subscription it would be their home address Tax rate.
*If I sell shirts at an event in Quebec...I have to charge Quebec tax... If I'm selling them out of my office and sending it to BC I have to charge BC Tax.
***Shipping charge line.. -

I think we will need the ability to charge tax or not, depending on whether the item is shipped out of state.
