We really need the ability to add attachments to our system generated emails. We send our members various forms, and reference guides, etc. that are email specific. Currently, the only way to do this is to manually generate an email, which takes a great deal of time for our member help team members.

I want to add my voice to those requesting the ability to add attachments to blast emails. We regularly have the need to send out draft meeting minutes, reports, budgets, etc. to members. They are not large files. It is extra work for us to put these files on the web server and link to them in the email and then at some point delete them off the server. And it is extra work for our members to download the files. The files often contain sensitive information that we would rather not put on the public web server. I understand that security is an issue. You could restrict the attached file types to .PDF, .JPG and Microsoft Office files. Please reconsider adding this as a feature to the blast email function.

There is a huge need to be able to attach files to email blasts that are sent out. In the past, it was commented that this would be difficult because different mail servers have different limits on the maximum size of attachments they could receive - and it was usually small. Today that is not the issue it was. For us, even a 2MB file size maximum is more than enough. You could easily restrict file types to those you feel safe handling if security is a concern. It is also easier for users to attach files (since they are used to this) than it is to "link" them. Please reconsider allowing attachements. Thank you!

The new email interface is a miserable failure. There is no way to do attachments and inserting a small graphic like in a signature is impossible.
The old way was so much less involved. -

How do we insert a pdf file into an email or event invitation? It only seems to allow jpg files. This is a significant limitation.

Adding attachments would make Wild Apricot email a more productive tool. Right now I have to go outside Apricot to email from my organization files, such as slides, needed for events. Another example is certificates after the event.

I would like to see improved tools for embedding pdf in member emails.
One of my clients had sent me their agm package in a pdf. The reports included financials in spreadsheet format and some user images.
I converted the file to word format and tried copying and pasting the sections into an email for distribution.
The major problem is when aggregating documents into a WA email you are faced with the compositing skills of the submitting parties. Some understand how to use ordered lists.... others do not.
As such copying and pasting sections realizes various formats especially after WA cleans up the html. Allowing me to use the pdf where all the format hacking is already done would be a useful solution.
The other issue is that the email formatting tools are limiting. I understand why but the reality is that one submitter uses a 2 column format with images randomly placed in a way that the email editor cannot solve. You need to add mixed content boxes including text and image where the text flows around an image to be competitive with other bulk mail providers.

I would like to see Wild Apricot support the emailing of Attachments to email blasts. Just a suggestion for an upgrade to a great system.

We'd like to send out a pdf file with renewal completions.

We need this for calendar invites. Gmail can't add events from .ics files unless it's an attachment. A link does not work.

It would be nice to be able to send emails with attachments to attendees for an event. (example-- certificate of participation, handout).
Right now, you can only send out announcements and reminders, and announcements only go to those who AREN'T registered yet. And there's no ability to add an attachment. -
You do this, just not as an attachment but a link to a file to download. Is it a big difference in your case?

Allow email attachments and forwarding tools to equip volunteers.

Thank you for the suggestion!
Let me play a little devil's advocate role here. Sending actual documents in emails can be very limiting. For example, mail servers have limits on size of a file in email and one can never guess what the limit is (can be 5 Mb, can be even 1 Mb). What is the issues with sending links in the email, so when a person clicks on a link, the document starts downloading?
I would also recommend looking to Google Documents for collaborative editing. This is great service. Or, alternatively, Microsoft Office 365 - same idea.

Please change the software so it's possible to send out email attachments. This is a major weakness that's particularly annoying when you want to send out a document to be edited by the recipients, like meeting notes, and you're not yet ready to upload it to the website in final form.

I'd like to do this too, but I would see less of a need if the documents could be secured on the website (I believe this is being worked on).
Documents such as meeting minutes can waste a lot of bandwidth if they are sent out to everyone - but only a portion ever read them. I'd rather that these people click the link and download the file if they want it. -
Is this any type of attachment or do you need to attach a specific type (e.g. invoice) ?
