Maps for venue location
At the event page, in the Location field where the address is added to the venue., recommend it converts address to a hyperlink Would be easier to click on this address and get a Google map or driving directions to the venue location.

commentedSimilar idea, but slightly different suggestion/purpose.
It would be great if there were a couple of optional fields under the Event Details > When and Where section that could be used as macros throughout the email templates that would allow us to configure a map link label and url.

commentedI like "dashlite" embed script form Google Maps to add location image into the details. It would be really useful if this was a separate field but needs to handle remote locations as we are a walking group so the location doesn't always fit with street addresses.

commentedI'd like the google map gadget to automatically pull the event location and display it in the event detail page.

commentedWhen a google map gadget is in the event detail page template, it should automatically display the event location on the map. maybe a macro?

commentedA place to enter address and directions on individual event pages. Much like EventSpot on Constant Contact offers.

 commentedI'd like two things:
 * A "(View map)" link to the right of or below the event Location field on the event details screen that links to Google maps in a new browser tab. By default, this link should pre-fill the address input in the Location field into a properly formatted Google maps URL string.* Ability to insert a Google Maps gadget into the event details Description field. Again, if the gadget could automatically use the address in the Location field that would be nice, but not required. Kim

commentedMost all events need a way for the member to see where they are going and how to get there. Most of the commercial applications that deal with meetings supply a map button to locate the event before and when they are going to the event. Great addition and the many map suppliers like Google support that easy to implement option. I see this as a standard in the web supported applications. I rate this as a 10 out of 10.

commentedI use the insert an HTML or scrip button in the description on the event page to add a usable map for the location of our event.

commentedWe create a functional page for each venue that we use and include a map, parking instructions and any other required details. It would be great if the location field could accept a link so that users can link directly from the events information screen to additional details of the location. Thanks

commentedI agree this would be a huge help. I always have to go find the directions and try to input the text version under the additional information seciton. A link to Google Maps or something would be awesome (and much more professional).

commentedI really like idea of having a separate entry field for a "Link to Location Map" on the Edit Event page under the "Location" box. I think by default it should link directly to Google Maps, but you could override it with your own custom URL or leave it blank if you didn't want to link to anything. Fairly simple implementation but great functionality.

commentedI would even go so far as having a google map box implimented where you can type your city or location in & also having a custom google URL link that will automatically embed a google maps box underneath the small general event information page. This would be EXTEMELY helpful for those who do not really know how to embed items onto their webpage with the snipit tool. My helmet camera site does this (however you have to click on the map, no text box yet.

Dmitry Buterin commented Let's focus this thread on event location link to a map, which sounds like a good idea. A quick implementation idea is to provide a second field near location 'Link to location map'. About your second point - can you create a separate thread an elaborate? Event list does have event titles linked to event details already so I guess you mean some other page.

commentedWe always have events are not easily located however google maps allows us to map to the location. I use bit.ly short URL to help people get the google map location.
http://bit.ly/hunter-valley-campground having this as a link on the location name would be great.Event Titles Linkable. I would clicck on a title, not a More Details button, this is like having a splash page on my website saying click to enter, unessecary
