Event and Membership Taxes - We need to be able to charge different taxes for events and memberships

As it stands in Canada, membership dues are taxed based on the province of residence. Event registrations are taxed per the province in which the meeting takes place. But when holding a meeting in Québec, we need to charge the PST (Provincial Sales Tax) only to the registrants residing in the province of Québec.
Our wish is for WA to have one tax option for registration and a second tax option for Registrations.Christiane Kingsbury shared this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment Christiane Kingsbury commentedWe are the same issue. Plus for Québec, GST and PST are charged only for residents of the province. All other registrants only pay the GST. Membership dues however, are based on province of residence. So we really need to be able to choose different tax rates and rules for membership and event registrations.

This is a crucial element to the registration process. Many of my groups hold conferences in different provinces. It is a hassle to include the tax in the price for the delegate and even more so for the accountant. It has been 3 years, since I've posted this. I have clients who have turned down joining Wild Apricot because of this limitation and the issue of capping specific sessions within an event registration form.
