Was just on the chat with tech support. The developers say the reason for the limitation is "to avoid bots from spamming with long messages" - so it is OK for them to spam with short messages? I'd much rather have to deal with cleaning up spam than from being unable to make useful posts. Maybe the answer is to separate the forum function from a news feed function that requires back-end privs like the current email functionality emails in order to save/post.

Wow. Nothing in five years on this. We use the forum functionality for our news feed. I send the out as emails, then want to save them as a 'forum post' (but it is really a blog post). The limit seems completely arbitrary. I can created events and emails that are megabytes in size, but I can't even add a table to a news post because the HTML takes it over the 50kb limit.

Agree. Our treasurer isn't the most computer literate person in the world. I'd really like to restrict his permissions to the least possible to let him do his job correctly. Likewise I'd like to avoid our event managers messing the finances up. In a volunteer organization you can't always have everyone with the capabilities you'd like.

Vote added. I currently use manual WA redirects. Definitely want to see this.

Hi there. Would like to add my voice to this request. We are also a ski club and run multiple trips each year. As others have said, we generally take an initial deposit and then up to 3 other partial payments. Would be great to have this functionality. So far we haven't gone live on Wild Apricot, but if we had this functionality the board has said we would switch over immediately.

Just discovered this 'feature' - it is really a bug. How can it be that a member can add any non-member to a member-only event simply by adding them as a guest. BIG loophole. This needs to be fixed. Simply add a check box next to enable guest registrations that applies the same restrictions as the primary registrant. e.g., if the event is only open to specific member levels, then same applies to guests.
