Registering families / bundles for events
I've really had to finagle the system to make it possible for us to have an event to which children are likely to attend with their parents. At present, we have the ability to have guest registrations at a different rate, or guest registrations at the same rate, or the ability to have everyone register separately. What's needed is to have the cardholder be able to register everyone according to whatever rate they should get. For example:
Adult at 10, Children at 5. Right now the system can handle two adults, or two children being registered at once. The system can also handle 1 adult and many children being registered. The system cannot handle 3 adults and two children.

Ideally, the software would look at the database, see how many guests are allowed under the membership level and restrict the member rates to that number (if not those names!).
This would include corporate levels that may allow from 1 to any number of complimentary representatives specified in the database. Examples below:
Toyota Motors: Corporate Benefactor Level member - includes 15 representatives (members)
John Smith: Family Membership - includes household members up to 4

Any update on when this will be addressed further?

Thanks for comments. I agree that poor support of family and bundles functionality is a weak point of WA. Unfortunately, we are very busy with other changes (i.e. Content Management System) for now and there will be no updates here for the nearest time. Sorry again.

Great to hear you are working on this.
I think the family memberships and event registration process (For them) is the biggest missing link in WA at the moment.
The ability to:
a: Have the bundle administrator be able to register for an event and let them decide who from that bundle is attending (choose each registration type) and finalise it in one transaction would be great.
b: Have a family membership type where the address and common details are shared between the members in the family.
It would be good to know a timeline on the event piece atleast. These are the things that make a new customer think they should look around at other products.

We are currently working on analysis of events registrations process http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8826511-redesign-of-event-registrations where multiple registrations to be allowed in a single transaction

You are right, in our current design we do not have good functionality for handling family registrations.I would appreciate input from everyone who is dealing with families as we are trying to come up with the right design.I am thinking that there are two different aspects to this:1) When registering guests, it should be possible to specify the registration type for each guest. This can help with families and in other scenarios. There a thread dedicated to this:http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8826058-allow-to-select-registration-type-for-guests-7910 2) If a family is already setup in Wild Apricot (using 'bundles'), then there should be a simplified way to register the whole family. I do not think this is addressed in other threads so let's focus this thread on this topic.
(And one essential aspect of this is that bundles can not currently be properly used if emails are not available for each family member) Thoughts? -

I strongly support this idea. I control multiple Wild Apricot websites for family-based organizations (PTAs, Boy Scouts, etc.) All of them have a need for what is essentially a "family membership" where one person, usually the parent, is the primary account contact for email purposes. The others are associated with the parents account (either contained within it or as separate "sub-accounts" that are linked/tied to the parent account).
There may be an event such as a camping trip that requires registration. For this event, any of the children can attend (usually at a discounted rate), plus either of the parents may attend (possibly at a different price/rate). We need to know exactly who is attending and their membership type so that we can send appropriate information (adults chaperones get special information, the scouts have information pertaining to them). Of course, we'd like to pay for all of this in one transaction.
Right now, what we do is create separate accounts for each adult and scout at different membership levels. When a parent registers their kid for an event, they need to login as the scout and register. Then they repeat this for each kid. Finally, to register themself, they then need to logout and login as themself to register. It's very tedious and confusing to them. Furthermore, since unique email addresses are required for each account and most of the kids don't have email accounts, we've had to make up phony email addresses for the scouts and create email forwarders to forward those emails to the appropriate parent. Big hassle.
So, yes, several of my clients would greatly benefit by being able to register multiple members at one time. Doesn't solve the unique email address problem, but maybe you could somehow incorporate the "main account/sub-account" concept into planning this by allowing one member's email to point to another's.

We do an event every year that has Adult, Young Adult, and Youth registration levels, all at different prices. Right now if an Adult registers they can't add a Young Adult or Youth to their registration, the only option is to add another Adult. They have to do the Young Adult or Youth on a separate registration. I want attendees to be able to register and add what ever they need to the one registration. I'm sure there must be a way to do this, can someone enlighten me?
