Changing bundle members to nonmember or changing their level
The Problem: A membership administrator tries to change a bundled membership to non-bundled membership and there are bundled members, the only option is to suspend or archive the bundled members.
Request: Have the option to assign the bundle member as a non-member (regular contact).
The same problem have bundle administrators, they can't remove members from bundle or change their membership level / bundle

It sounds like a frustrating limitation for membership administrators and bundle administrators alike. The inability to convert bundled members to non-members or to adjust their membership levels within the bundle really restricts flexibility in managing memberships. Implementing an option to reassign bundled members as regular contacts or to modify their membership levels would significantly improve the user experience. This kind of detailed problem-solving could make for a great topic in Professional blog writing services—exploring solutions for common challenges faced by administrators in membership management systems. Bundle Coordinator Member Management – Enable organizations with large market presence to manage who is active in a membership bundle.
Be able to use a check box type of function to manage members of the bundle. The coordinator should have the ability to move an individual from an active member status to being a standard contact for communication.
People change jobs and who is active under the bundle need to be adjustable. Ie. We still want to have them as a contact, but the coordinator can’t move them to just a contact. They have to be archived and then an administrator has to unarchive the contract. This also allows We also have scenarios where an organization has different teams and they may need to move a team member from one bundle to another for accounting purposes.
The current process for navigating around bundle management takes 20+minutes and requires administrator assistance for something that should take a bundle coordinator less than 2 minutes to complete.

An old-ish thread, but still relevant. I find it odd that a bundle administrator's only option is to archive a member, which means (if I understand correctly) that said member will no longer get any information from us (newsletter, opportunity to renew as an individual, etc.). Our members are academics who are sometimes joined to different bundles on different years, or take a year or more out from membership only to be re-bundled later.
A more desirable option would be if a bundle administrator could change a bundle member to a regular (unarchived) contact so that they don't just vanish into a communications void. If there's a way of configuring it this way, please let me know how.

Team Astra-just got back onto this wishlist and saw your earlier email, because I just ran into this problem again. We have a membership level "Double" that allows two bundled members. We also have an "Individual" level for one person. A bundle admin (Call her Jane) for a Double wanted to switch to an Individual. I suspended and archived the bundle member (call him John), but I was not allowed to change Jane to an Individual.
Following your instructions on the help pages, I needed to reassign John to a new category and Jane to a new category. The only way I could get it to work was: I actually created a new "admin-only" "Non-member" membership category. I could then assign John to this, and then assign Jane to an Individual.I guess, I could have switched Jane to a Bundle Member, then converted her membership to an Individual; the suspended or archived John. This was not very intuitive when I what I needed to do was suspend John and convert Jane to an Individual.
Either way--a lot of steps when there should be a way to strip membership status from someone and have them be a Contact without any membership category.
At the least, the help page should be updated to explain all the steps that need to be done rather than a vague "assign them to a new member category"

I agree that this issue should be addressed in a cleaner way.

Bruce, you can change bundle another way.
For example, you need to move the bundle member from AA to BB. You can open bundle administrator's contact details, bundle BB, membership tab and use 'Add member' function. Select bundle member in the dialog. Also, see help page https://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/Membership+bundles#Membershipbundles-addingmemberstobundleAddingmemberstoabundle

We are looking for the ability to move a bundle member from one bundle to another. I don't see any way to do this except to archive the contact record and start fresh. Am I missing something?

Option to either "turn-off" inactive member to non-member, so that in the near or far future it can easily become a member without archiving it.

Dale, if you suspend the membership of bundle member it becomes non-member (contact). Why this doesn't work for you? Or you need to delete membership at all, not suspension.

I fully agree. The documentation actually suggests assigning the bundle member to a different non-bundle membership type, but this is not appropriate if there are no applicable levels. The only solution that I've been able to come up with is to assign them to a non-bundle level and then mark them as lapsed. Also ugly. I suspect the issue is that if they are just made into a regular contact any membership history will be lost, but if they are just a member because they are in a bundle, such history really isn't important to me. If you really wanted to keep history, just add a note to the notes field when you unbundle them and make them a contact in the same way that a note is added when a membership is renewed.
