Sign-on integration with Wordpress etc. [16822]
This would be a great feature for us to have. Having single sign-on is crucial in our efforts to simplify and manage the user experience when members access multiple systems aside from WA.
Right now they would have to basically sign-up in multiple places, receive and manage multiple logins this is a real big headache for us admins and developers who are trying to offer services via other platforms aside from WA.
Let me know if we are even close to having something like this release in the near future.
Thanks,
Stan
Released in 5.4

Hi Dmitry,
i was giving this some more thought and actually implementation of a CAS type solution for SSO would be excellent.
See here:
This would allow us to integrate WA with every other internal web application we self host, which primarily now is just wordpress but were exploring the possibility of offering e-learning via a moodle implementation so having something like this would really help us centralize the login process.
Again i know this low priority item for the moment but if you could look into it when you have a moment and share your thoughts on this I would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Stan

Hi Dmitry,
I kind of figured.
I'm not really married to any particular option, I'm really only just looking for an option that will work well with self hosted wordpress install.
We have a lot of content that we would like to start password protecting. All of it is on a wordpress site, it really doesn't make sense for us to distribute two sets of logins for each system it would be nice if we had a central place to authenticate users into both WA and WP.
I'm sure when the time comes you'll opt for a solution that can be used with a wide array of CMS which is fine. Just keep in mind that there are many of us using an external CMS to manage the majority of web content and WA for what it does best, managing memberships and event registrations.
The need is not a pressing issue at the moment but i suspect a lot of us will be under pressure to simplify the user experience with respect to login in the near future. I understand you're currently focused on the WA CMS redesign but would be really grateful if you can look into this in more detail once you've finished with the upcoming release.
Thank you for your time.
Best,
Stan

Stan, sorry, all our attention now is on CMS redesign so don't expect much else for the next ~ 9 months.
Also, there are many single sign on options, any in particular you are interested in?
