Check in guest when main registrant fails to attend
When a member registers a guest for an event we are unable to check in the guest when the main registrant fails to attend. We would like to have the capability to check in the guest despite the main registrant not being present. The scenario is not uncommon. For example, it arises when a bundle administrator (often a firm owner) decides to send employees to an event (and typically wants to put all registrations fees on his credit card) but fails to attend personally because of a conflict on the day.
This feature was added in 5.9 – https://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/Release+5.9
It will be available in the mobile app in 1.6 release.

I am also voting for this on behalf of 6 Wild Apricot Clients. This is constantly a problem.

Thanks Peter! Unfortunately it doesn't increase the vote count : ), but it does give us better context!
That is, unless you asked your clients to vote for this item as well ;) -

Although I can only vote once, we need this functionality on behalf of my 8 Wild Apricot clients!

A guest checking in prior to the main registrant is a common occurrence for us and the ability to use the system for checking everyone "as they come in the door", regardless of the status of who registered them is a common sense request.
-
That was a mistake of original design as we could not imagine a case when a guest comes without main attendee. No, it takes time to fix and we have other priorities for now.

We like the mobile app to check people in. But it is handicapped by not being able to check EVERYONE in. Those we cannot check in are the guests, so we have to maintain paper copies of our registration report, so we can manually check them in. Why have PARTIAL electronic check-in?

I agree that this feature is essential for our company. Our main example is our annual golf tournament. People show up at different times, and want to get checked in, but to use this feature we would have to wait until the main registrant arrives. This is the main reason that we aren't able to utilize the check in feature.

I did suggest this somewhere and also sent a msg to WA but I don't think this was ever addressed so I am sending it again.
Check-In: It's a great feature you added; however, there is a flaw in the process. Say a person registers and also registers a guest under that same registration. If you check people in, and the original person who the registration is under does not show, you cannot mark the guest as attending - the program won't let you. This is a problem because you do not get a true count of attendees. Can this be fixed on your next round of updates? Just because the registrant does not show doesn't mean the guest won't. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing! When we were designing this feature, we had the very same question and argument around this. But we did not have enough knowledge on what is right or wrong and we decided to make it easier for us to implement - we would have to spend more time to allow checking in guests without main registrant.
Now, having your comment, we can adjust the behaviour.
I do not promise the exact timeline, though.
