Ability to select landing page
It would be nice to allow the administrator to select what page then land at when they login. Sometimes I login and land on the dashboard, sometimes I login and land on the web home page and have to click "switch to admin view" then I go to the dash board then I click where I want to go, I'd love to set it up that when I login I land on the 'contacts' page.

Already done. To specify a starting page for members, click the Starting page option within the Members section.

This makes sense, though we do need to make some changes to our backend to enable that.
However, there is a pretty good workaround now. Even though we do not show different URLs when you are in the backend, most admin pages do have their own special URLs. You can get them by right-clicking and copying in many places. So you can create bookmarks leading to specific admin pages.
For example you can go directly to Contacts:
http://<yoursite>/Admin/Contacts/List/ContactList.aspx
or Contacts Advanced seach:
http://<yoursite>/Admin/Contacts/List/ContactAdvancedSearch.aspx
