We too need a way to either export the results of the Member Directory widget, or display a print friendly version of it. Evgeny, I don't see the "Print" icon in the top right. Perhaps our web developer removed it from our customized theme.

Downloadable photo directory from contact list

This has clearly been a requested feature for a long time.

Over the years since this request was first posted, has anyone found a semi-automatic way to do this, either in Excel (Custom Views? macros?), Word, with an Avery template, or even with scripting (iMacros + a browser), or any other way?

[There is also a very similar wishlist topic requesting a way to export formatted data to print membership cards.]

We also need the ability for members to print out a photo directory. When we prepare one and upload it, it becomes outdated within weeks, which does not happen with our member database on the site, as it is updated for each change in a timely fashion. We also have members who are not computer savvy and prefer printed material. We need the ability to print the directory just like the other reports, perhaps with the checklist function.

Current position is that you can insert a Member Directory on a webpage and using a saved search you can display a group list. You can use the Browser Print facility which is ok for a few members. However only the first 50 members can be displayed in one print and that occupies e.g. 2/3 A4 pages.

Desired position is a print button in the gadget which will print the whole Directory list in a condensed format e.g. 50 records per page.

It would save many steps to be able to create a directory (with photo) for our check-in station.

i have made this request before....I continue to be frustrated at the lack of a report generator that gives me a detailed print-out of a specific member's data, is such a utility yet available or in the works; this should be a simple task for a data-based program.

We would like this for both administrators and for the public. The public uses our site to find members in their state or city. Administrators would love to have it for print directories or to generate a pdf file for an online directory.

I agree, this would be nice, my clients are always asking how they can print the member directory. There are two types of requests:

1) ability to generate a directory that ADMINs can distribute or print;

2) a way to allow MEMBERS to pick fields and print (or export) the entire directory.

Also a "show all records" option in the dropdown would make sense. Users don't really like to be forced to paginate.

In the past our church has manually maintained a membership directory in an Excel spreadsheet. Since migrating our directory online, the information is kept much more up-to-date... but only when pulling up our directory page. Many members still wish to download a current spreadsheet for offline use.

I understand how to export a current copy of the member database using the button on the members & contacts page. However, my account is an admin on our site but does not have access to the page the button is on, so I haven't been able to give it in-depth study. Furthermore, I wish to automate reporting to update the downloadable spreadsheet weekly and offer a download link on our directory page. So far I have not found the names of the variables to retrieve, or how best to retrieve them.

I would prefer to automatically delete all but a few fields, such as name, address, phone number and email after the report is generated.

Has anyone heard of a script to do this? Also, where on the site should I upload it to run periodically?

Can it help? Or you are talking about a dedicated piece of functionality where admin is able to generate special nice looking print version of his directory to send it by mail to some of his members?

We have an ongoing need to print our member directory. I know, printing an online directory is almost oxymoronic, but we have 35 members who have vowed to die never owning a computer. We can't move forward and leave them behind. We have found no way to print a nice looking directory with photos. We suggest WA have a formatting option for each page that allows for printing in a nice format without the computer stuff at the top. I can't believe we're the only ones with a need to print in a nice format, are we?
