Tags for blog
Yes i ditto that--we need to have tags available for our blog posts. This is a basic feature of blogs now that greatly improve the user experience as well as one to rank in google for keywords/tags.

commentedI can't believe that WA is not planning on updating the blog gadget, according to the support response I just got. Archiving by date, searching, and attaching tags are basic features of any blog. I have decided to use Blogger and iFrame it into our site. Shame on WA!

commented2023... and still no categories or tags available for the blog, first requested in 2010. This is unacceptable, and extremely disappointing. It's such a standard that I never thought to ask if it was available. I'll be sure to point out this deficiency when telling people about WA in the future.

Becky Abrams commented It's 2022...why can we still not add tags to blog posts? Or categories? Or blog search features???

commentedI recommended WA to our group and I just assumed that we could tag and filter news posts (I guess I assumes I would use blog for that). They bough it and implemented the member directory, and are about to implement other features. Now I have the embarrassing task of saying WA won't work for us for the time being... Please please can you fix this?

commentedWe would like to use the blog gadget to build content for our newsletter, but without tags and better formatting options, I don't see how we can do this. Please help!!!

commentedYES YES YES. I just got hired to manage an organization's site, and the lack of tags on blogs/news is making it almost impossible to solve their problems. Not sure I can recommend this service to other groups without it.

commentedSeems like most developers could find a generic blog with tags and categories and plug it in fairly easily. The current WA blog is completely unusable. I wonder what the problem is...

commentedGiven that tagging for blog posts has the highest votes for wishlist items and the fact that it is available or events, we were wondering (hoping) it is a feature that will be added soon and wanted to inquire. Do you plan to add this? It is a critical way to keep our members engaged in our content. It looks like it's been on your short list since 2015. Thank you!

commentedTagging is critical. I cannot organize our calendar without it, and ours it enormous. We have a couple hundred recitals a year. It would be great if past events were archived into year categories, for example, all 2017 recitals fall under 2017, all 2016 recitals fall under 2016, etc. Look at https://tgocina.wildapricot.org/summer-recitals?EventViewMode=1&EventListViewMode=2 and switch to list view to see what I mean. Without archive ability, imagine how long this page will be a two more years. I'd be happy to be a tester. :)

Regina Pinney commented We were just on a call with our web designer and they were encouraging us to use another platform for the purposes of tagging. Please add this soon!

commentedIt’s really hard to convince the customer to Use wild apricot for their association including that associations news and blog on the blog doesn’t have tags or categories. For example my client wants a blog that has news and also has events and also has stories and it would be great if someone could invest some time in putting this into wild apricot because lots of people want it! Thank you!

commentedI'm writing you as Blog Administrator for the NAPOMichigan.com. I love that you've added the ability to schedule articles to post into the future. I've been wanting that feature. Yay! However, another feature that our old web host had for Blogs was the ability to add Tags. Words that I picked to attach to the article so that Blog readers had the ability to search Blog articles by subject or topic. Is that something that is possible to add? I loved being able to add several search terms as Tags to make it more user-friendly for the Blog readers. Please advise. Thanks. Cindy Greenleaf

commentedI'm on board too. Tags however are just part of the story. There is no useful way to search for blog content when pages are protected. UPDATE 01/21/20: To make it easier for our subscribers to find articles of interest we’ve had to create several blog pages by topic. Unfortunately it’s now become unwieldy to manage and we shouldn’t have to waste time just to add posts to a blog. I appreciate the improvements WA is making to their system but having categories and subcategories is basic to all modern blogging platforms. This feature is long overdue and needs to be incorporated soon.
