Add eMail Subscription Feature to Blog Pages
I like the forum subscription service. It woudl be great to be able to link this to blog -posts as well. In our organization, members post their own media releases and announcements on the site through the blog feautre. However, they only get distributed to the mailing list once a month or so. Being able to assure members their postings are distributed immediately would be a great addition to the value proposition.
Please review our current proposal: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/123zVAgAcSLQb02vC6v8zj-6qoEAEW56cJ-3ioqv5WEc/pub?start=false&loop=false&delayms=3000

Hopefully it will be in the 2011 roadmap. Our blogs are private so feedburner is not a workaround.
A subscription choice just like the forums would be great, would make the look and feel more consistent too.

Unfortunately we have to postpone this feature from our 2010 roadmap

This has been flagged as one of Top 50 features to develop in 2010.
As always, please don't hesitate to add any suggestions for this feature here. We'll let you know when we have a solution worked out and when we plan to release it.

My community is not advanced enough to use RSS and I cannot expect members to check the site and further, the blog(s) daily.
The forums component has it right - subscribe and have a number of subscription options.
Please add this as soon as possible. As is, the blog component is not practical for the community that want assurance that posts are reaching its members.
Thx

If it is a publicly accessible blog, you can use Google Feedburner service to enable email subscriptions

I'd like to see a function for members (or non-members for that matter) to subscribe to our blog, much like they can for our forums. We are using the blog to post news and other timely announcements. I'd like to have the blog send an email version of the blog post directly to all members.
I'd also like to see the functionality of the blog made more robust. I'd like it to have some basic dynamic navigation, so that it doesn't just display every article. We don't need anything as fancy as blogger, but somewhere in between the current bare bones version and something that can expand over time more effectively.

I appreciate your request. For now, I use the third-party service, FeedBurner, to enable individuals to subscribe to my WA Blog. FeedBurner offers simple hyperlink text to a form for individuals to subscribe to your WA blog via email postings.
FeedBurner: www.feedburner.com
