Limit number of selection for individual registration options
Current behavior:
Automatic cap of event registrations is currently set for the whole event only.
Desired behavior:
Many people use custom event fields to handle registrations for specific sessions within large events. What's needed is the ability to specify for each option in such fields that it should be limited to certain number of people. Once the limit is reached, option should become unavailable.
An example:
Which extra sessions you want to attend?
[] Golf $150 - Max 30
[] strip club $100 - <No Max>
[] History museum $20 - Max 50

Understood - thanks for commenting.
This has not been scheduled into a particular version yet so not much I can say for now.

I, too would find this feature helpful. I am in the process of setting up a training that will have multiple locations (the training will be a webinar, so people must choose a location at which they will participate and locations are across the state.) locations have different limits on the number of participants they can accommodate, so this feature would have been helpful. Any word on the status of its inclusion in a future update?
As always, thank you!

I agree with the other posts. Having the ability to set registrant limits for specific functions/sessions within a conference would be very useful.

Have you tried using event extra charges fields for sessions?

We are long time users of Memberlodge / Wild Apricot and run approx 5 events per month. Our events consist of 3 seperate sessions on one day which we need to take registrations for. The courses are: Introduction, Intermediate and Advanced (this is chargable via PayPal) so it is possible that our registrants would stay all day.
Ultimatesly we would like to see the option to have varoius sessions in one event which offers the option to cap off regsitrations to each of the sessions
This way our guests only have to access one form and can select only the sessions they wish to attend, rather than filling out seperate forms/registrations for each session (for the majority of registrants they will come to the 1st and 2nd session)

This would be very helpful as our organization offers a 3-day event, with member and nonmember rates, early registration discounts, and with multiple class time frames each day, and different options at each timeframe--but the classroom sizes are limited. Having a separate registration type for each option is not user-friendly when it means there are over 16000 possible combinations. It means that despite Wild Apricot being our software of choice, we cannot use it for this and must go with a different company that can limit choices, at least for our events. Being able to cap each option is the single thing that would allow us to use Wild Apricot for our events as well.

Until this has a set solution and release date, it will be moved to the wishlist.

I'd love to see this fixed. Making separate events for each price is going to create all sorts of issues. Thanks.

Unfortunately it will be a while before we get to this - quite a few other items in the development pipeline which are prioritized higher.

Hello Apricot,
Just wondering where you were on this issue or if you have made any advancements? The desired behavior you have listed above would be exactly what is needed. Have you tried to make this a functional part of your program yet? Thanks again!

Thanks! I moved your post here - this is one of things on our roadmap - see above. No timeline defined yet.

Hello wonderful aricot team,
I would like to have the ability within a single event, to select some types for a limited number of registration and other types for an unlimited number of registrations.... For example. If I am teaching a class I would like to have 7 participants and unlimited auditors for a single event. Currently I have to make a separate event for auditors than I do for participants - it can be confusing for those trying to register. Currently, I only have the ability to limit the total # of registrations per event. Do you think this problem is resolvable? How long do you think it will take to change this? Let me know if you need more information. Thanks again...

I am new to WA and have recently setup our annual writers conference as an event. We have multiple registration types (member, non-member, student, etc) as well as early and regular registration fees for each type. Setting up the Registration Types worked very well.
We also offer for sale appointments with editors and reserved spaces for selling books. I used Multiple Choice with Extra Cost buttons for each of these items. However, I will have to keep track of the number of items sold, because I do not see a way to automatically limit the number of each item sold. For example, we're limited to 30 reserved spaces for selling books. Once that limit is reached, I will have to insert a field stating item is SOLD OUT and remove the Multiple Choice with Extra Cost button.
Is there a better way to handle these event items for sale? Suggestions appreciated.
Providing a way to list the number of each item available for sale and marking the item as SOLD OUT once that has occurred would be most helpful.
Thanks,
Jenny Crowley
