invoicing non-members
sometimes we do work with other partners, AND GET PAID, for our project work...we need to be able to invoice NON-MEMBERs other than "donations"

We have to identify person who pays the bill to correctly settle it with invoice. Thus we require payers to log in.
It's absolutely not necessary to be a member to login. If someone has forgot a password, administrator can reset it or send new from contact details (https://gethelp.wildapricot.com/en/articles/22-passwords#changebyadmin) -

We have the same issue. We have manually generated the invoice and emailed it to them from our WA site but when they try pay online it asks them to log in, which obviously they can't do as they are not members. How do we get around that? Thanks

you can add them as contacts into your database and generate manual invoices for them - and they can even pay them online. Would it solve your problem?
