Merged several posts together, so that both public and admins lists can be customized. This is better for analysis and design to work on them together.

Is there a way to show the list of attendees but only have their company name listed? Our industry has prestigious firms and potential attendees would be impressed by what firms will be in attendance more than who.

Yes, it's very cumbersome! We ended up created new fields for the event registrations that duplicate member fields. Then when they join the information is in there twice which is annoying.

Another thing I noticed recently is when you add a guest to an attendee at an event it doesn't ask you if the person is an existing contact. More entering data that already exists!

Agreed, it's kinda crazy it doesn't include such a basic feature.

Yes! We have always thought this was needed too. The email opt-in/out choices are too limited and not customizeable which makes them nearly useless. We would also want this available for contacts who aren't members. If someone signs up for an event it would be great to have them opt-in to our newsletter within their info as well.

    Problem:

A former member wants to rejoin but it's been six months or longer since they were a member. Maybe they've even left their firm or changed industries (we have strict rules about membership related to this). Member can login and "renew" even after long periods of absence without being reauthorized and there is nothing to flag them for the administrator to take a closer look.

    Solution:

Make it possible for certain membership levels, or states (status), such as either Former Member membership level, or status of Archived, to require admin authorization for renewal just as you would for a new membership application.

I've found no work around for this but would welcome suggestions until a proper solution is implemented.

Yes! Always nerve racking to have to publish it and then test it afterwards!! As soon as we publish it, it's sent to all our social media forums (Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn).

I know we are getting a ton of complaints about all the emails our members get now with each transaction. Wouldn't it make more sense to have a "Print Invoice" button on the "registration pending" email (whether event or membership)?

I don't understand why this wouldn't be standard. The email lists my website address incorrectly as we use a forward from our main website address. The fact that I can't change this is maddening. It's very confusing to our members when they get the email.

It's true that copying is a lifesaver.

Where I run into trouble is having to remember to update all the dates associated with it to the new event dates. For example, we offer registrations at different prices based on whether they register early or late. Currently this is set by selecting an exact cutoff/change date such as valid until January 3rd. A simple change to make it more useable for copying would be to change the selection to change the price or valid until "X days before event" instead of having to put the actual date in. Then even after copying the date would be updated correctly on the registration types.

Are you referring to the Unsubscribe link that's automatically added by WA? If so, then I would very much like to edit this as well.

I agree this would be a huge help. I always have to go find the directions and try to input the text version under the additional information seciton. A link to Google Maps or something would be awesome (and much more professional).

Not sure what you mean by "not a change"... it would be a significant change. Confused.

LOVE the idea of custom macros! Would solve a huge list of issues and needs.

Sorry for the delay in responding - I wasn't getting updates on the feed for some reason.

I would love to put sections of the event (as I listed in my original post above) into other emails, like a quarterly newsletter or post-event follow up email. It would be great if you could add the sections of the event into other emails the way you do macros. Even on event announcement emails, sometimes it would be nice to highlight the menu for the event, other times the speaker.

Also, we add our list of sponsors to a lot of emails we send but the problem is for some events that list is constantly changing as we get new event sponsors. If I could just add, for example, macro for event sponsor section to my pre or post event emial I wouldn't have to cut and past the sponsor box in every time.

If the event calendar template was broken out into these sections, you could add any section (as a macro) to any email or even to another webpage to highlight an event speaker and draw people to the event calendar.

Does that make sense? If not I'd be happy to mock something up visually to send you. I think this could be a really important change to the way the event calendar works.

Yes, Yes, Yes! Having the ability to put the Upcoming Events widget into a newsletter or email would be fabulous and wonderful and would help get the information out about the events without having to send 30 emails.

We need the pictures, or in this case the logos of our sponsors, to be much, much larger on the sponsor directory but I'm told this can't be done. Please make them larger or for us to have the ability to select a larger size.

I agree. We use this mainly for our sponsor logos on the annual sponsor directory and it's way too small and low-res.
