PayPal Standard limitations on WA
PayPal now offers many new options on it's site. For example, a basic subscription can have a duration (12 months for example). For an extra fee they also offer Installment payments and automatic billing (which is quite different than subscriptions) which would be great for our sponsorships which have a high dollar value. But WA hasn't changed it's software to reflect these new options and allow us to utilize them.
Can these options, in full or part, be added through the code? I know PayPal has the ability to add them through API but I can't tell how to make it work with WA. (and don't simply tell me to add a separate paypal button which would add a ton of work for us!)
Having these features would solve SO many problems we have with payment plans as what we are offered now is not adequate for us or our customers.

It looks like we may support it already - our key developers confirmed that our internal payments API may already support "Enhanced Recurring Payments". We will be testing it - it will require some time to validate it on live account - and I will get back on this as soon as we have confirmation.

As far as I understand, this will require development on our side, so most probably it's not supported. But I'll forward your questions to our payments expert and let you know when I get an answer.

This will require development from us, so there is nothing you can do. We will see if something can be done here.

I believe that Enhanced Recurring Payments for PayPal Payments Standard is a fairly new service. It allows recurring payments to be made with a credit card instead of just a PayPal account. In the past PayPal PayFlow Pro with Recurring Billing was the only option for paying recurring payments with a credit card.
Here is a link to information about the service on the PayPal website: https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?&cmd=_render-content&content_ID=merchant/erp_overview
Does anyone know if Wild Apricot supports Enhanced Recurring Payments for PayPal Payments Standard? I know they support Recurring Payments for PayPal Standard, however that option requires users to create and use a PayPal account.
Any insight would be appreciated.

We have been using PayPal Standard to process membership dues. Unfortunately Wild Apricot includes a Shipping address as part of the transfer of information to PayPal. As a consequence PayPal requires processing of the order as goods and the new member receives a confusing email saying that their order is shipped.
There must be a way to correct this as I have used PayPal for other societies (not using WA) and not had this problem.
