It would be nice to have a gadget that would show members' birthdays whether by day, week, or month.
You can create birthday gadget yourself:
1. Create a member saved search for members with birthday this month
2. Add Featured member gadget to the page you want and point it to just created saved search for member source
3. Setup featured member gadget for your preference.
The only caveat I see is that saved search parameters are limited to "this month" only, there are now "today", "this week" searches unless you manually edit the saved search every week.
Having said above, we will unlikely implement a dedicated Birthday gadget, but we will still consider other related requests covered in this topic

Sigh. Since 2015. Really? I need to know who has a birthday THIS MONTH (of any year). It's unlikely someone is already in our database if they were born this month... but that is all I can search.
The work around of building an admin box and adding the dob month to search for isn't really a work around when that is an additional manual entry. Please just let us use the birth month!

We are in 2022 and this is still not a feature? This should be a given. I should be able to report on a date fields month easily. It give you the option to report on the month regardless of year. You mean to tell me that you can't create this simple function to omit the year? Give me access to the source code and I will build it for you. This is super frustration for us developer types that know how easy it is to create these simple functions.

This idea was shared back in 2015 and is still a good and necessary one. My organization wants to show everyone who has a birthday "this month" among other date related capabilities. This could be done via a saved search but, "this month" means December 2021 according to the site's logic, not just December which would be amusing if we did not really need the capability.

No activity on this one for a couple of years. The request could be as simple as allowing us to pull the birthday from the member contact info into the calendar or modifying the calendar so it is not event driven but rather we can add a calendar 'item' like reminders, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
Early on there was a question from the developer as to why we would need this. If we are to use Wild Apricot exclusively as our management system, it is critical to be able to diary tasks to address later and set reminders (if not workflow) to acknowledge things like birthdays and anniversaries of our members or donors.

Birthdays are important to our group too. We are a women's only social organization. We only track birth month and birth year on our profile record as well. Then we created a "birthday gals" page, and created save searches for each month and one saved search for the year. We created links to the saved searches. The members can click the month link and see whose with it is ( we use the same gadget as profile / featured members) to display photos, show the month and date of the birthday girl ( sorted in birthday order). That way the members can click on their name or email address and send an email message to them right away. If they want to search for the birthday of a special friend, they can also do that by clicking the saved search for all birthdays.
We have also used the WA email templates and created custom club birthday cards. All you have to do each month, is send to the "saved search" list and have ecards sent to members to members.

We need this too! We're a social organization and members' birthdays are important to other members. Also, we would like to bulk upload the list of birthdays and keep them on the events calendar permanently. We need this so we do not have to rely on someone to add birthdays every year. Also, would be nice if each person received an email on their birthday as an event announcement... any ideas?
This is a great idea. I also would like to be able to search any date field in this manner.
We are a women's social club (newcomers) We have always listed members with birthdays in the given month in our monthly newsletter. Members use this to send cards.
We would like the ability to have a page that can be accessed and show the current month's calendar and the member's name on their respective birthday. Populated automatically from member profile information.
Note: our birthdays are in the member profile as month and day only.
We have come up with a barely adequate solution to this problem and are open to other workarounds. We set up a directory report that is sorted in birthday order. Members can access the page and scroll down to the current month. Do able but not as useful as a calendar page with names.
Wonderful idea - doing it now manually. Widget could show on a page whose birthdays are occurring during the month by day. Would also be nice to send an email on each persons birthday.

Our organisation needs this too. Member birthdays (and anniversaries) are shared in local council minutes to afford members the opportunity of wishing each other well on the occasion. Currently we have to export the dates and do the list in Excel; not ideal.
+1 for this functionality please.

Aboslutely! Please ;)

Also anniversaries or any other relevant dates
Could you elaborate on why you need this? E.g. Why are member birthdays important to your group?

We would like to be able to automate transferring member's birthdays from the member directory to the event calendar.
