option to easily unsubscribe from all emails
When people hit the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of an email, it would be good, as a checkbox option on the page they land on, to allow them to unsubscribe from all emails, not just newsletters. I suspect some of our contacts will not be happy if they still receive event notifications when they intended to unsubscribe fully. I don't think that one should ask them to login to do this (from their full profile). At present, we will need to manually check for these people and remove them from other mailings.
PS. It would also be good if the slightly confusing terminology relating to email subscription was made consistent across the system (WildApricot has indicated that they intend fixing this aspect).

This is very important. We have received angry comments from members who unsubscribed and continued to receive emails, because there is no global unsubscribe option.
Global unsubscribe is industry standard now. This is a functionality people expect, and it's essential for list hygiene and good deliverability.

Thank you for your detailed explanation, this will help us to do a proper analysis and design in future.

I would also agree that there needs to be additional functionality with the 'unsubscribe' button. I would like to take it a little further, if I may.
It would be nice to be able to target specific email lists that they would like to unsubscribe from. It is my understanding that currently if a member were to unsubscribe from an email that was manually sent, such as a weekly newsletter, they are effectively unsubscribing from ALL manually sent emails. Which means if we send out other manually sent emails, like a meeting notice, or an additional quarterly newsletter, that they will not receive them because they unsubscribe from one manually sent email they did not care to receive (the weekly newsletter).
What would be nice is to be able to designate 'groups' that manually sent emails could be assigned to (weekly newsletter, quarterly newsletter, meeting notices, etc). Then, when/if they unsubscribe they will continue to receive the manually sent emails from the other groups unless they unsubscribe from it as well. Of course they should still have the option to 'unsubscribe from all' if they so choose.

Seconded, this is one of the features we were REALLY surprised was missing, along with:
-no standard "contact us" functionality
-inability to track donations by campaign
-awkwardness of batch updates by download/upload

I agree. It would be nice to have the option for members to unsubscribe from all emails.
One recent example. One of our members moved and didn't want to receive emails. So, he unsubscribed from an event email. He then unsubscribed from a following newsletter. He then received two renewal reminders from us. From his point of view, that's frustrating. He had to email us to stop receiving emails.
One solution: All unsubscribe email links go to one unsubscribe page. There, a contact can select some or all types of emails from which to unsubscribe (events, newsletters, system emails/renewals).

Thanks for the comment, it makes total sense. I'm quite surprised that this has not come before.
Still, let's see other comments on that.
