Admin preview of event registration settings

I'm frustrated that there is no preview feature for the admin creating an event. I very much want to view the page/option I'm working on without having to open all registration options, register, delete my registration, and then close all options. It's a very time-consuming workaround.

Other details on my events wishlist:

* change registration field type with a click of a button, ex: from dropdown to checklist
* enable/disable registration types from registration view page (action buttons on a single page)
* bundle event registration with membership application/renewal. I want registrants to automatically become members by opting in - with or without additional charge at my discretion. Currently I'll have to manually edit membership as registrations occur.

I would really like a preview feature. I'm trying to set up a fairly complicated event (multiple days, member/nonmember, early bird/regular rate, multiple choices for sessions) and I would like to be able to preview it to see how it looks without enabling registration.

I totally agree. When we put the event out there and it doesn't look right because we can't preview it, and then have to disable the event to fix it, it really is a poor reflection on us, but some things we can't do properly without the ability to see it.

I can suggested the following workaround for now:
    * add some tag for the even e.g. "test"
    * create member-only site section, available for some specific group only e.g. admins
    * add a even list as a subpage
    * setup event list page to show events filtered by this "test" label

Now you can preview event on the site when use switch to public view mode (make sure that you belong to the group that you defined for this member-only page. Also, you will have to mark all other events with some other tags (e.g. "Live") and for your normal event page you will have to setup a filter by this "Live" tag.

I know this is too much work and kind of ugly way to do this, but there is nothing we can do right now. I will keep this thread here so we can eventually do something to resolve this problem.

Actually, in the very next release, all events will be available by direct URL and each event also will have its own access settings (not just Visible/Hidden). This means that you can define limited access for an event and then on public site open it bu direct URL.

Yes! Always nerve racking to have to publish it and then test it afterwards!! As soon as we publish it, it's sent to all our social media forums (Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn).

I have searched around for the answer on this but have not found it so I thought I would try and see if someone could shoot me back a quick answer.

I have created an event which I have marked 'Invisible' since I don't want it to be published yet to the world. I have created for the first time a registration form that I need to be able to test to be sure that I have set it up correctly before I go 'live' with my event. Isn't there any way that I can see what my event will look like to the public and test all the features while it is marked invisible?

I could have sworn when I was setting up the website that even events that I had made invisible would show up on the website so I could at least see them and test them and they would stay invisible to everyone but the admins.

    Any help would be great.

It's very hard to follow comments with a mix of different requests in them - too many comments and threading. Could you please focus on the most important part here and put other notes as separate threads?
