make it possible to customize the directory search criteria
Can you please make it possible to amend the search criteria
on the drop down box for the search function (in the directory) to
just show 'contains' rather than all the other options e.g. 'empty'

Contains / Does not contain: will return records that contain / do

Begins with: returns records that start with the string

In the advanced search in the directory, is it possible to delete the first column (the drop down menu containing "is" " is not" etc.)? It's confusing. Can it just be the field name and the text box next to it where to type?
I'm asking because if I type the name of one of our members in the text box, the system will find it and will select "contains" automatically, but if I select "is" from the dropdown menu and then I write citizen, it won't find it -

Clients have asked. Just passing their requests to you guys/gals. I think it would be neat to have a limited number of fields there. Less confusing to users. No?
