Custom URLs for events
Would be great to have a way to make our own Custom URL for Blog posts, Events.
Right now i use bit.ly to make:
http://secondgearclub.camp9.org/allevents?eventId=159084&EventViewMode=EventDetails
into
http://bit.ly/may29-trail-clearing
Be nice if we could have a box that says Short URL

Add me to the list- just because there are not multiple authors does not mean this is less urgent to your customers- most are simply not aware of the hit they are taking WRT to search. This is basic friendly URL stuff, there is no reason for basic feature requests to languish here whilst you add new features- please make the changes to help your customers' events get found- and be able to get properly posted in places such as Facebook. We are waiting now years for what could be out of box in any reasonable CMS. Thanks.

Any update on this one? This would be really nice for us to have for ease in promoting events and guiding people to registration. Also would be a big help when looking at Google Analytics.

I'm for this, too! Nice for Facebook links etc, too - search engines seem to like it better as well

I understand - unfortunately we are focused on membership, events and CMS modules right now in our development work so blog is not likely to get any significant upgrades within 2011.

I would LOVE to have custom blog post titles & tags like blogger has.
I may have to go towards blogger for all posts as it automatically titles pages & custom URLS for posts.
An affiliate website has blogger and it pretty much destroys any other website out there for easy of sharing & use.

Automatically dates and has custom title as well as blogger tags.
Is this going to happen anytime soon? Sharing content is painful as the URL is just an id tag and rarely finds its way to search engines easily.
