Our members our organizations, we need an easier way to allow people in that organization to attend event
Our company works with educational institutes. These members are represented by several individuals in those institutes. Wild Apricots current method of event registration allows for only the primary email address to register for events. Our events are open to all of the people in those institutes and passing around an email address to everyone is not ideal and is too informal for the work that we do. We need a way to allow people at these institutes to register on their behalf. Right now we have an event that allows non-members to attend an event for a fee. If they are a member it's free. This current setup is causing members to receive invoices that some have mistakenly paid when they used the wrong email address. Our staff has been dealing with this issue for almost 2 weeks.
There are several ways this can be done:
- A new field in the internal part in each member profile to list accepted email addresses for members to register for events with.
- A new field in the internal part in each member profile for an accepted email domain name for registrations. For example any email ending 'school.edu' should be allowed to register for an event on the behalf of that member.
- Instead of members typing an email address, request that they type the correct name of their institute. If that institute is a member they can register for free.
This functionality is imperative to our use of events in Wild Apricot.
