Definitely would appreciate this feature idea, but only if OPTION to show or not show.

If the poll feature were to seriously be considered as an election tool (eg vote for new club management team), the poll results must be beyond reproach/question. it would provide credibility as to the accuracy of the poll results when using a system gadget or similar to publish the results to membership/wesite/email blast etc without human intervention. since current results must be published with human intervention, there will always be the critic that will question the results have been changed.

So In having difficulty with the Polling feature I believe these simple add-ons or fixes will really enhance the user experience.
When a poll is open those who are general members invited to vote should be able to see the summary results as the vote goes on this maintains transparency of the vote progress and generates excitement and interest of the vote itself. The way it should be done is the same link that brought the voter to the poll in the first place should being them to the summary results as well once they have submitted their vote. The individual response should not be shared with the general voting body and should remain an administrative setting. To give you an idea of what i mean check out the Google Forms polls. It function simply and the results are visually pleasing.
Currently I'm trying to share teh results of my poll and I find myself having to screen shot and crop the results info to create a document for everyone to see. That is not professional.
Also, there should be a widget feature that gen show the live voting results so it can be embedded in one of our pages.

Assuming you're going to work on allowing members to view poll results... would like a feature to specify an archive date vs. viewing all polls forever. Would also like switches to indicate viewing permissions - e.g., public, contacts, members, members by level.

Showing members the current tally is a great way to get them to participate and to engage them in the questions being asked.
I was all excited about publishing a poll to get discussion started on choices for club activities, but without this feature it is so much less useful.
