Increase default profile photo size
Right now, the system resizes member profiles to a tiny 110px x 110px. This is true of any additional custom member photo fields we could add.
It's time for WA to increase this size or at least reserve a copy of the original upload:
1) so we can offer a decent profile photo on the profile page;
2) because most new phones and tablets and laptop devices offer retina imagery (or higher), which displays at 3x the resolution and so makes these low res 110px x 110px look really terrible.
Time for an update!
Please rework avatars so they can display bigger, and so that they are clickable to view a bigger version. This would be valuable for our member directory and for members to connect with each other

Agree with this proposal and since 2017 further major improvements have occurred in network bandwith in many countries enabling faster loading speeds for larger images.

Yes, In fact, we wish to use the photo field for other functions, including wanting our members to upload certain documents to their profiles. So we would appreciate having that field to be expanded for higher res images, screenshots or even PDFs.
The directory profile images are too small. I have increased them via css but then it pixelizes the image. I need a way to make the profile image not be compressed when it is uploaded.
This comment was sent to me by one of our members: "Hi lhorvat2,
Just a thought - the pictures in the directory are very small. It sure would be nice if one could click on a pic and enlarge it substantially." Does this request even register on the Wishlist? How many votes are needed to get attention?
Or allow it to link to original so a larger size image can be displayed.

Yes, member photos do not display large enough to use for identifying other members.

Agreed. At the least, make the original copy of the member photo available to admins so that it can be used in our annual printed rosters. My workaround is to store these in member photo albums.
Yes! We've had multiple requests from members to increase the size of the member profile photos so that you can actually see the person!
Oops, I should have clarified: 3) also so we can make use of these better profile pics, through the API, on our custom tools we're creating.
