Gift Memberships for the holidays, birthdays and special occasions.
Allow one person so set-up and pay for membership and "gift it" to someone else. Currently there is a workaround be setting up a Google form, and then our admin creates the invoice. Its too much manual work and payment is not smooth. Would be best if WA had an new membership workflow, with online payment and it generated a simple gift certificate for the person to give to the recipient. Other orgs (zoo, museums, etc...) have this function.

I can't believe this was first suggested in 2015 and 8 years later, it is still an open request. This is important for non-profits and I know we could increase our membership if we had an easy way to do this.

Yes, gift memberships would be a great feature. I just received a request for a gift membership, and at present there is no straightforward way to handle that.

I would like to offer a membership portal whereby existing members could purchase gift memberships for their friends and family. One technical approach could simply be to sell them a membership number. That membership number would only be activated once the person who receives the gift membership registers their contact information. Since memberships form the basic building blocks of many not-for-profit organizations, I would like to see the folks at Wild Apricot take on this challenge.

Our members too would like to give a membership as a gift to their family and friends. Is anyone working on this? Waiting for a solution.

I wish there was a good way to do gift memberships. Especially around the holidays we have a lot of members that want to gift a membership. Yes there are some workarounds and you can make it work with a few steps and manually entering information, but it would be great if there was a completely automated "Gift" gadget that was a one step solution to capturing both the gift giver and the gift recipitant information and do it completely automated. I would think with all the non-profits that WA has this would be a great help to all

enable folks to give a gift membership through the on-line store. Currently the on line store has no real link to membership side of things. Folks can buy stuff and the only way to put in the recipent information is via "comments" box in the check out page (we can't even change the "comments" box to "put in the gift membership recipient name, email . address here ") .
see our on line shop https://gatewaybrownscreektrail.org/Gift-membership
Thanks

Git Membership. We are conducting a membership drive for 2020. We need a "Gift Membership Tab" like other web programs offer. The Gift Tab would enable us to enter the recipient's E mail address and pay for the membership. THEN, we'd like the recipient to receive an E mail notification of the "Gift membership" from "who" AND a link to set up a Logon. Hopefully this option can be added before year end
Thanks !

We also have many members who like to give a gift membership to family members, friends, etc. Currently gift membership must be submitted using a paper application and postal mailed. It would really be great if the capability to provide gift membership. Also; as an added feature it would be great to notify the member who gave the gift membership that it was soon to expire. Giving them the option to renew the gift if they so desire.

We have many members who want to gift memberships (and donations) in honor of another family or friend. The current form design is confusing as to how to fill in the data fields--do I fill it in for me or for the recipient? We can add custom fields, but they are always displayed at the bottom of the form where the giver doesn't see them until they scroll down. Then they have to go back up and correct the top part of the form. Most frustrating is that there is no way to send separate notifications/confirmations. The giver needs a receipt for acknowledgement/thanks and tax records, while the recipient should get notification that they are now a member and who the giver was.
