Current behavior was made on purpose: we thought that "order" only make sense of menu pages. Other pages do not require ordering or structuring (parent-child relation). It looks like we were wrong.
Anyways, you can use a workaround for now: create "Admin-only" root page (in menun) and place all pages you want as children, make then as "in menu". This will effectively hide the whole section from user's menu, but will be shown for admins.

We have it already for pages - you can define a page access per level and/or group.
So, is it about setting up more granular access within a page to specific pieces of information (gadgets)? Can you provide an example why is this important?

Moved to Wishlist and renamed to better reflect the requests - I see that key scenario here is that "older members wants to delegate all complicated online payment stuff to admins". Let's see for more comments form other people.

1) We have Instalment Payment thread - http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8825830-installments-payment-plans-for-events-and-member - which might be about this problem as well
2) In your particular case, when you receive a check for the first period, you can actually do the following:
- create a member manually in your database, set required membership level (with recurring payment option enabled) and set renewal due date to the next period
- system will suggest to generate invoice; do it and them record a manual payment (check) for it - this will create financial history for this contact for his first check payment
- in next year (or whatever period is), automatic renewal emails will be sent to the member, reminding him to renew; when member will follow the process and renew, he will be asked to pay with credit card and as soon as he does, he will be billed recurrently after this

No, there is no way. We, internally, had this issue in our database but gave it a lower priority until we receive at least one comment. You're the first one to comment on this since March 2011 :)
Currently, it will not go into the Roadmap until it has more comments - see http://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/Product+roadmap

Moved your requests to wishlist forum - this looks like an usability bug in our design, so I want to keep it in our pipeline for future system changes.
I would recommend you to contact our support, so they can check it on your site and pages directly. There can be other things to look at or even problems with HTML content.

Something like this? This is mockup we created a long time ago, but put into our queue for future updates. Glad you posted this comment here, as any idea that has a direct connection to a customer comment has higher priority for us.
