Sorry for the late update.
The first step was finished and emails can now be carbon copied to contact’s alternative emails. To do so the contact fields which store the alternative emails must be explicitly marked on the email setting page.
Unsubscribing will unsubscribe all alternative emails simultaneously because they all belong to the very same account. The person clicking “unsubscribe” is warned about this on the unsubscribe page.
For now we paused the development of this feature. but not for good. :) So I’m changing this wish status back to “collecting comments”.

An error occurred while saving the comment Thank you: one secondary email per contact will solve 99% of our needs! And for the other 1%, creating an additional contact isn't that big of a deal.

An error occurred while saving the comment Hi - in case you haven't figured this out already, I ran into the same thing recently. Here's what you need to do:
1) Hover mouse over your discussion gadget, then click on the settings icon:
2) On the left side, scroll down in the gadget settings until you get to permissions. Enable "read" for public if you like, and "add reply" for members:
