Discount coupons for event registrations
I tried implementing the arrangement for coupon codes for events this week.
I'm sorry, but I really don't like the way it currently works.
To explain, I wanted to setup a coupon code in WA for 25% off a registration for any event. To start with, I needed to edit every single event one at a time to do so. Then, when I logged in and practiced going through the process of registering, it showed the 25% off rate as an option. Anyone could see the amount of the coupon, even if they did not know the code and therefore could not complete the registration.
For me, this defeats the whole purpose of it being a "code". If I have 25% off and 50% off showing as an option, everyone is going to ask for the code. I don't want everyone to know there even is a code.
I would greatly prefer that coupon codes be an option sitewide for registrations.
It should also not be an option for registering, but rather a code that you enter when completing the registration. It should not be obvious codes even exist except that there is an optional box when completing the registration.
This seems to be more in line with what most e-commerce websites do, right? For example, isn't this basically how gift cards work at Target, Staples, etc?

Please, common event discount codes across all events and discount codes that can be applied in the event registration process vs choosing a ticket (similar to memberships)

So frustrated that we can't offer a discount coupon/code to non-members. I absolutely do not understand why this is not an option that should be available on checkout.
Please fix this quickly.

Discount codes are a must - I want to provide a discount for people attending an event only by video conference at a certain rate, discounted the same from whatever type of ticket they are purchasing (member or non-member rate.) All you have to do is allow for negative amounts for extra charge calculations and this is solved. So easy.

We need a discount code that members get after they join or renew membership that can be used to register for a specific number of events per member.

Adding my voice to the chorus. Really need multiple codes that can be applied to an existing registration type. Are there software architectural reasons why this isn't being addressed more quickly?
Big gap in standard functionality. I just saw the latest WA release included a map feature of members. Certainly nice, but no where near as important as coupon code functionality. Seriously.

When can we get coupon codes for registration ? almost not able to use the system right now without it. Thinking of using something else.

please add a blanket coupon code (similar to the code we can use for membership) to the events function. That would make registration so much less confusing and more appealing to guests

Multiple Discount codes with options for percentages and actual dollars for each event

Please allow for more than 1 redeem code to be used. We have a host committee and would like to give them each a code that they can share directly with guests who they are inviting to their events. Right now, we are using a drop down for the guest to select but a unique code would make it a lot easier to track

Just had an event of over 1000 people. Had to use eventbright for discount codes while used wildapricot for membership. Board is saying use only one system as it confuses folks. So need to get ability to have discounts codes for events in 6 months. Else will be switching to a new system for next year event.

Is there a way to setup multiple registration/promo codes for an event without creating multiple registration types?
My organization has formed partnerships with a number of local non-profit groups. We're trying to promote our group and use codes to help entice people -but currently we can't setup multiple codes w/o setting up multiple registration types. This is necessary b/c we'd love to track what groups people are coming to us from w/o having to setup 3,5,10 types - 1 for each group.

Gerald, I hear you on this one. The problem is that our priorities and roadmap is already compiled and being worked on, we cannot really add something into next release.
On a positive side, our events development team is monitoring comments like this ones and if we believe that we have to change our current priorities, we will.

Discount codes are a must. Eventbrite uses this feature effectively. I hate to go back and forth between the two services just to offer tickets to an event. And now that the price for WildApricot has increased it is making it more and more difficult to justify staying with WildApricot. I must join the chorus on this one. Please put this at the top of your agenda for the next update. It would be of true value and would allow our organization to keep all ticket sales in house on one system. Thank you for all you do!

I joined wildappricot only to find that I can not have multiple coupons for one event. Coupon is used only to get the price which is already listed. Bad for marketing. Should be % based on the coupon code. Basically this is offered by most others systems and I would not have used this if I had not known. I still have my other system so will used it. If not fixed will leave wild apricot.

I would like to see discount coupons for events to function like membership discounts. I want to send certain people a code for $XX amount off an event registration without having to setup a registration type that everyone can see that requires a code.

Liza, we understand the importance of this feature and I totally agree that it is very useful for word of mouth scenarios. Unfortunately, it is not in our nearest plans. We will update this post as soon as we start working in it.

Okay, years later, how have we not solved this issue yet? Wild Apricot, this is a big deal. This should be a high priority to incorporate into the next update.
Our organization thrives on word of mouth, and being able to hand out discount codes at some of our outreach and marketing events (festivals and trade shows) that would not only allow people to take a % or a dollar amount off of any future event (at checkout, not as a discount registration type, because then all I get are emails from people trying to get the discount code emailed to them), as well as the ability to have multiple universal discount codes so that I can track where they are coming from is critical to our company's next steps in growth and development.

I have several clients who would like the ability to assign event discount codes without having to create a separate registration type.

The inability to have event-based codes is holding our organization back. If this doesn't get added as a feature, we'll be forced to find another solution. Please consider expediting the development of this!

Lack of event-based coupon codes is a glaring hole in this software. A system like this should obviously allow for easy use of discount codes, without having to create all the different ticket types. It's ridiculous.
The development of this should be moved to a higher priority, as it keeps Wild Apricot from being a top Member Management solution.
