email template side margins too wide
Email template with a graphic at top shows up well on mobile devices; however, flawed on desktop/laptop. It shows up with a very narrow content field and super wide, empty margins on the right and left (even though I selected the "one column" option). I tried adjusting settings and chatting with support--they said there is no immediate fix for this issue. Can you please adjust the template to eliminate the wasted space in the margins to allow improved readability?

What you are seeing is typical. Email clients only display to 600px wide, so when you have a very wide screen and are looking at an email through a desktop web browser (usually 1920px wide), that is what you get. See the attached example of a professionally produced email from HSN, as it appears in my inbox on a desktop web browser.
