Use of Affinipay card reader
Now that Affinipay has a bluetooth reader/swiper, is WildApricot going to be able to integrate that as a payment option?
This is the text from an Affinipay email:
Introducing the all-new AffiniPay for Associations mobile app and Bluetooth reader/swiper
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our brand new AffiniPay for Associations app and Bluetooth reader/swiper!
Available for both iOS and Android devices, our mobile app allows you to accept contactless payments and the latest chip card technology, making your payment processing more flexible and convenient for your members. Enter a member’s payment details manually or use our new Bluetooth reader/swiper to make it even easier to get paid on-the-go. If you’re already using one of our readers/swipers, we strongly recommend you upgrade to our latest model.

Well, everyone, I wanted to post an update to my note below. It still doesn't look like there's any movement here. I thought that Wild Apricot's relationship with Affinipay would make it obvious that they would be supporting the card reader. *shrug*
Good news is that I bought a Square reader and signed up for that service. It is able to 'complete' the transaction on the WA back end--closing out the invoice and linking the payment.
But yeah, it took more effort to create another account, fill out all that info, and link our bank accounts. I do have to remember to transfer money out of Square to the bank every so often. Not seamless but way better than the Affinipay reader.

The ability to complete and record transactions in our WA backend is critical. It takes too much time having to enter by hand.

Ditto Ditto. Very frustrated that this is not supported...

Just bought an Affinipay reader because it sounded like the bee's knees. Just hooked it up and tried a payment. Yes, it was way easier than typing everything in from the Wild Apricot website, but I'm sad to see that it just 'takes money' and doesn't assign it to an invoice and complete the circuit.
So my second thought was that I can at least take payment in the Affinipay app, then flip over to the W.A. app and mark an invoice paid by credit card. Nope--my only choices are Cash, Check, and Special Discount. I can't even mark paid by credit card online on my laptop--the same choices show up there. I can only "Charge Credit Card" by going back to where I was at the beginning and typing it all in. This makes the Affinipay card reader...well, worthless.
I don't mean to sound "complainey," but, yeah, I'm pretty disappointed. If you're going to integrate with Affinipay (and charge an exhorbitant amount someone who wants to stay with PayPal), it should be easier to take credit cards at the door.

This is a major aggravation of being moved to Wild Apricot payments by Affinipay. No integration between WA website and the Affinipay credit card readers. I see WA has not responded, don't care...

I'll add my voice to the chorus. Seeing the faces of potential members fall when they realize they have to key in their credit card information is pretty disappointing and really slows down the registration process. I've seen people waiting to sign up walk away when someone can't enter their information properly.
Are there *any* card readers that work with the desktop/browser version of WA for Affinipay customers?

Just ordered several of these and really hope you will integrate with WildApricot websites... It would be a great help to our organization.

It would be REALLY nice to have this feature for both the app and desktop applications. As mentioned the reader only works with the Affinipay Mobile App (not desktop). At our events we typically have a laptop set up at registration, so it would be nice to have the reader work with the WA website or at least a desktop app if that's possible.
