disallow reactivation of archived records
We would love to have a configuration switch that we could set, so that no archived membership record could be reactivated by a returning member who is applying for a new membership and using the same email address as the one they had when the prior record was archived!
Perhaps offer the applicant the option of continuing to use the same email address, at which point the WA system would remove it from the archived record and use it for the new record? Or simply give the applicant the option of 1) using a different email address, or 2) contacting an administrator for a solution.
We try very hard to maintain data on all our prior members, including the last known email address we had on file for them, so that we can still reach out to them later. As such, we don't want to simply delete the email address from their record once we archive it, and we don't want to have to manually move those prior email address to another field on the random chance that they might come back a few years later and wish to re-apply for membership using the same email address as before.
A system-wide configuration switch, such as "Disallow Reactivation Of Archived Records" would prevent someone from reactivating a membership record.

issue of archived accounts, becoming unmerged/out of archived status .
The reason why this happens a lot with our members in particular, is because some members policies are to change email addresses every so often. If a member has saved their old email and password in their browser for wild apricot, and tries to log in, it will take their old account out of archived and they will not be able to get into either account (pulls old account out of archived and marks as lapsed) we normally deal with large group registrations and import them that way, so even though I go through each one to see if there are duplicate accounts once the import has been done (and merge if so) the new account has already been created and its too late to change the email in the old account.
Is it possible, (even if for our company’s members only, )for the archived accounts to not come out of archived status for any reason, unless it is done on our end and not the users?
