I wrote to Support and received the folowing reply from Doth:

Thank you for taking the time to share this thoughtful feedback about the event registration experience! My name is Doith with WildApricot Support, and I completely understand your concern regarding how difficult it can be for users to intuitively figure out how to cancel or modify their event registrations.

Currently, when a registrant goes to an event page they are already signed up for, the system simply displays "Already registered" instead of a clear action button. Users typically need to click into their existing registration before they can make changes or cancel it. Your suggestion to replace "Already registered" with "Modify/Cancel Registration" is a fantastic idea that would certainly make the available actions much clearer for your attendees.

Unfortunately, the "Already registered" text is a system-generated label, and there is currently no built-in setting to rename that specific wording within the standard event registration workflow. I sincerely apologize that this customization is not currently available.

Because this would be an excellent usability enhancement that could help many organizations, I highly encourage you to share this idea directly with our product developers! Great idea! Would love this enhancement!

This is a fantastic idea! It would eliminate considerable frustration & many of our members being totally annoyed with having to use WA.

We host many small group no-fee events and need attendees to be able to cancel themselves but the process of cancelling causes confusion. When they go to My Event Registrations they see a list of events. To see the Cancel button then need to click on an event but not on the event title. Many of them click on the event title and see the event listing. Also having the contact Admin to make changes banner means they do not realise they can cancel themselves. Please can you find a way to make this process easier and less prone to confusion. We often have events running with empty places and several on the waitlist.

Agree - we need to simplify cancels

This update would be great.
We get many emails or calls from people wanting to cancel because there is no cancel button. We've documented how to cancel, but having to click on already registered is not intuitive. Adding 'cancel' under 'already registered' would indeed eliminate confusion and the need for emails/phone calls to take this action.

Most of our members are seniors and not particularly tech savvy and they are finding it hard to cancel registrations. Is there any way I can add a Cancel button under the "Already registered" link. Or better yet replace the "Register" or Join Waitlist" button with a Cancel button

I may be missing something but when someone's registration at an event is cancelled, why do they still show up on the registrant list that is exported?

If they have cancelled, it's no longer relevant to the attendees when it comes to ordering food and materials. Very confusing.

Just a suggestion.

It would be nice if registrants for events could receive a confirmation email with a link where they could cancel their registration in one click.
