Custom fields for events
We would like to have custom fields for events.
We use Wild Apricot for course registration and need to be able to identify the instructor. Currently, we use the description field, but we don't have a way of creating a report that includes the instructor along with the event title and related data.

This addtion to events is long overdue.
We get repeated calls from frustrated members who cannot believe the system does not allow us to drag their data from their member file into their event info.
As webmaster, their frustrated comments cross my desk every week.

This suggestion in its various forms is littered throughout the Events wish list, which, unfortunately keeps the votes down. Offering the ability to create multiple custom fields that are part of the event database, not the contact or member database, exactly like you do for the contact and member databases, would be the most brilliant and flexible upgrade you could make to your event module.
We would like custom fields (for admin only view) too. As TangentRW we also need to identify Speakers, Presenters, Observers, etc.

I agree that events need custom fields for a variety of reasons. In general, different organizations are going to have different criteria for organizing their events.
In our case for example we have event departments, program numbers, event presenters, publishers, event difficulty and more types of specific information about events. Events are still not first class citizens in WA.
