My organization needs to track members interests, without cluttering additional fields under the members tab. We are using events for this purpose, since we can customize fields. We have to ignore date of, and other event-related fields. It would be great to have a separate tab without the event-specific fields. Also, looking at using for 'member interests', 'member suggestions', and 'volunteer opportunities'. Since it would function similar to events, might not be too hard an addition-
What about adding volunteer hours here? WA may not do the math, but if it could capture hours (maybe a numeric or time field needed), it would be easy to export to Excel to add them up-
Our organization wants to survey our members in a number of areas. 'Outreach' is looking to ask them questions so members can connect with each other, 'Suggestions' is looking for input on how we can serve them better, 'Volunteers' wants to ask them what areas of expertise they would like to share with us. 'Membership' does not want to have to have all these fields on the membership tab, and we want to compartmentalize access to the membership data.
Could you please provide more details on your suggestion? And, if possible, I'd like to focus more on the problem you need to solve rather than solution.
