Recent antivirus updates for BitDefender and others might render Wild Apricot editor inoperable
A number of clients have reported to use problems with editing web pages / using Wild Apricot online editor in other places, e.g. edit event description, forum topic text.
Our investigation indicates that something in the recent updates of antivirus software is interfering with our editor. We have now reproduced the problem with BitDefender and some clients reported that Kaspersky and other antivirus software might be causing this as well.
In our tests, even disabling all antivirus options did not solve the problem - only fully uninstalling the antivirus restored Wild Apricot functionality.
We are working trying to figure out…

Problems with email sending and payment processing April 5th
As of ~11:45 am April 5th (EST) we have been alerted to problems in sending emails and processing payments. This has been tracked down to hardware failure and our team has been working on it since. We expect this to be fixed by 2pm EST.
Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience. We do have multiple redundancies built into our systems but they did not help in this specific situation as it has affected several machines at once.

Problem with pictures in emails linked via absolute URLs
When you create an email and insert pictures via Wild Apricot website editor, it inserts it via so-called relative link in your email HTML code, e.g.
...img src="/Resources/Pictures/logo.gif"...
(It's called relative because it does not include your website domain)
However, if links to pictures are inserted in a different way - e.g. by manually editing HTML code, they might use 'absolute links', e.g. ...img src="www.mysite.org/Resources/Pictures/logo.gif"...
There is currently a problem with these absolute links to images - they get broken when email is sent out. We are working on it and expect it to be fixed on May…

Incidents of Internal error messages on event and membership forms
A number of clients have reported "Internal error" messages when trying to register for event or use membership application form.
Our team is investigating this and we expect to resolve this in the near future.
In our own tests this works correctly on all the client sites so this indicates and issue with our server farm - meaning that this error will affect a portion of your visitors while others will have no problems processing transactions.
We will post updates here as soon as we have any news.

Norton Internet Security malicious warning message
Some people using Norton Internet Security have reported being blocked when they attempt to access their Wild Apricot site. They get a warning message about accessing malicious site. We had some people opening new Wild Apricot accounts and trying to usу them for 'phishing'.
Instead of putting the malicious warning message on those specific sites only (these sites have already been taken down), Norton is putting the warning message on ALL Wild Apricot sites. We have since contacted Norton to report the error on their part and we are now waiting for them to remove this warning on our sites.…

Saving email templates with complex formatted text wipes out the email template
Our recent update on Sep 4th has introduced a bug into saving email templates - e.g. any automatic email like event announcement.
If you add any complex HTML code into a template (e.g. by using a copy from a predesigned email template function) and save it, the email template in question is wiped out - saves as empty.
We are testing a fix and expect to publish it overnight to Monday Sep 10th.
For now, please refrain from editing/saving email templates with any kind of complex HTML (= tables, formatted text, pictures etc.). (If your template does not have any…

[UPDATED] Hardware maintenance Oct 20th 2 am EST
We are ramping up our hosting infrastructure (servers/firewalls/switches etc) to increase the speed and reliability of Wild Apricot system.
Installation and configuration of some additional hardware will be performed on Oct 20th at 2am EST - the night of Wednesday to Thursday.
Total maintenance window is scheduled to be up to 90 minutes. During this time we will be switching off our web servers one by one to configure them, approximately 10-15 minutes per servers. Any users currently routed to that specific server would be disconnected and lose their session data (e.g. application forms/registration forms/email or page edits etc.).

Network connectivity problems evening of Sat Oct 1st 2011
Around 5:30 pm EST today our monitoring systems have noticed problems with network connectivity to our servers (intermittent routing problems).
This meant that Wild Apricot websites would take long time to load - or even not load at all.
We have immediately contacted our data center provider, they confirmed the problem and they were already working on it.
As of now, at 8:30 pm EST it looks like like normal connectivity has been restored.
Depending on a server and your location, our monitoring systems indicate downtime between 40-60 minutes.
We apologize for the inconvenience and will be investigating the cause…

Sporadic connectivity problems between 9:30 am Est and 10 am EST
A number of clients have reported to us a problem accessing their Wild Apricot sites in the time period from 9:30 am and 10 am.
We have investigated this and found that while all our servers were up and running during that time and accessed fine from our own locations and by most clients, our monitoring systems did register connectivity issues from several regions, including US Midwest and Australia. It looks like our hosting provider experienced some malfunction with their network connectivity from certain locations - but everything was back to normal as of 10 am EST.
We will be…
