Recent antivirus updates for BitDefender and others might render Wild Apricot editor inoperable
A number of clients have reported to use problems with editing web pages / using Wild Apricot online editor in other places, e.g. edit event description, forum topic text.
Our investigation indicates that something in the recent updates of antivirus software is interfering with our editor. We have now reproduced the problem with BitDefender and some clients reported that Kaspersky and other antivirus software might be causing this as well.
In our tests, even disabling all antivirus options did not solve the problem - only fully uninstalling the antivirus restored Wild Apricot functionality.
We are working trying to figure out what is being blocked and how to get around this, for now your options are:
uninstall the antivirus software from the machine used to access Wild Apricot
use another machine without it
Please also report this to your antivirus vendor ASAP so they can investigate and fix the erroneous code.

We believe we found the source of the problem with BitDefender. It looks like BitDefender injects a special additional Javascript to all pages loaded in the browser. This code conflicts with Wild Apricot Javascript and makes our editor inoperable.
We suspect the same might be happening with other antivirus software.
BitDefender has just released new version of their software BitDefender Total Security 2013 - and this version does not seem to have this problem and works fine with Wild Apricot. Please upgrade and use this version.
(In the meantime we are working to change our own code to prevent these kind of problems - but it will take a while to develop and test this, also we can't guarantee this would always work.)

Update: we are hearing these update are affecting other software, not just Wild Apricot. The biggest problems seem to be in Google Chrome. Please try other browsers as well - Internet Explorer and Firefox.
