It seems like this would greatly complicate the implementation.
But there's an easy way to get most of the benefit. Give the admin the option to hide sections of the registration form, and specify a header to click to show the section. Then you could say "Click here to register for dive," and "Click here to register for swim," etc.
Sort of the same way the WA Help pages work. They show the topics, and then you click to expand.
It wouldn't help with the required fields, but would otherwise simplify complicated registration forms, and should be much easier to implement than full logic.

Good feature. But how to specify the number of upcoming events to be listed?
And it would also be nice to specify a keyword and then only include events with that keyword.

A workaround could be to add a required multiple choice field on the registration form "I accept the terms below" with only one checkbox "Yes" and then put a brief waiver in the field instructions.

I see that it is available in Contacts Advanced Search but not in Members Advanced Search. It looks like most of the Contact fields are available in both. This should be added.

I believe it will fill out Contact fields but not Member fields. I guess the thinking was that non-members can register, so don't use the Member fields. My thinking is that if they're not a member then leave the Member fields blank on the registration.
To get around this design problem, we made boat name, length, etc. into Contact fields.
So I will vote for your suggestion but I think it really should be "Treat Member fields the same as Contact fields in registration forms."

I suggest this could be retitled "Make Email Template Choices Clearer."
After Compose Email is clicked, for a New email WA shows me the Simple template and our Custom Templates, and then the Themed Templates. Below that - where I never looked - are the Basic Templates, with Blank hidden at the bottom. So I've been using Simple for months when what I really wanted was Blank.
Also, the Simple template does not appear on the Email Templates screen. It should.
So I suggest that on both the Email Templates screen and after Compose Email, the templates should be displayed the same. First, the Custom Templates. Then the Basic Templates, with Simple and Blank first. Then the Themed and System Templates.
If you want to make sure the user knows about the Themed and System Templates, put links to them up at the top of the template list.

I agree this should be limited to logged in members and would be quite useful for us.
If you're looking at contact fields, here's something else that would be helpful.
Now, contact (or common) fields always go at the top. This creates a poor workflow for some of our event registrations. (We need a number of common fields for some registrants, but not for most registrants. So these common fields push the required fields down the page. Then our members complain that they can't figure out how to fill out the form.)
I suggest adding another custom field type, a Common Field, that could be moved around on the form and have instructions just like any other custom field. When creating this type of custom field, the admin would get a dropdown list and could specify which Common Field to use.
Then we could lay the form out more clearly for all registrants.
