1. Photo Album Gadget Modernization

   The photo album is antiquated in today's world. There needs to be a photo album that is more like other online website providers such as Squarespace, Wix or Jimdo or even GoDdaddy. With those provider programs you can upload an en tier gallery of photos in different prre-arranged patterns, preview the photos and add flash. Any modernization would be good!

   Which launched a new Photo Gallery gadget in the latest version 7.14, which has a more modern UI and, I believe, solves this thread.

2. Dashboard with graphics for total members per group

   We have to report out via graphs to show membership levels to our executives. The system has no dashboard to show graphics of levels of membership.

   IE: 52 members with a bar graph for Veterans Group. 25 members are in Wichita, 22 members are in Miami.

   Need a Graph to show who is where and total levels of membership. You might have one group that is scattered across the world. We cannot see that in this system yet.

   Simple bar graphs or digital dashboard.

3. Add a linkable button gadget

   A linkable button as a gadget would be very helpful. It is difficult figuring out the html code to embed if you are not already fluent in code. I would honestly put buttons all over my site.

   Link have styles, some of them are button ones.

4. Add the ability to have a Directory for subgroups

   As far as I can tell, it's only possible to have a directory that includes all members. I'd like to be able to add a directory that just includes the members of a certain subgroup we have, that can be used on a page that's restricted to just that subgroup.

   You can easily do it yourself – we use uservoice.com for this and they provide tools to embed feedback gadgets into any site.

7. Add Instagram and Pinterest to Social Media Gadget

   Add a URL field for the social media sites Instagram and Pinterest. These are critically important social media outlets for our organization which supports folks in the VISUAL arts.

   Also, change the boring black icons used in the Social Media Gadget to colorful icons similar to what the Wild Apricot User Community website uses on the bottom of their homepage...or, give the option to select the Icon type and offer 2 or more styles.

   Then, if you want to get real fancy, include one to two additional free-form URL fields in the Social Media Gadget with the ability to upload the graphic for the additional link (e.g. Vine).

8. Group Directory Gadget

   I'd like to be able to show the members of a group on the group's page. I'd probably want to just get the full list of members for my group because there are usually fewer than 20 members in a group. The home page for the group would have an event gadget (show just the group's events), a forum gadget (showing recent posts for the groups discussion board) and a member gadget (showing all the members of the group)

9. New Gadget: Featured Member [15728]

   Gadgets have become a very popular addition to Wild Apricot, and we've loved seeing the ways in which you've used them and also recommended new ones.

   One of the recommendations is for a Featured Member gadget. We'd love to hear if this is a gadget that would benefit you, and if so how you would use it.

   As it stands now, I can imagine the following features on it:
   * Choose a specific member to feature in the gadget for a set period of time. Or use a saved search to choose a random member to feature
   * Feature one member who has just joined and filled out certain fields in their profile (this is to highlight new members and also encourage people to make sure their profile is filled out).
   * As an admin, you could choose what information displays on the gadget from your database sets up (so you may just want to display first name and last name and a link to their profile on one gadget, and on another display their name, avatar and the custom bio field you've created.)

   Gadgets have become a very popular addition to Wild Apricot, and we've loved seeing the ways in which you've used them and also recommended new ones.

10. Gadget Displaying Most Recent Members

    Desired:
    The ability to create a widget that displays the most recent people who have joined your organization.

    This is handy for alumni groups that might want to put a widget on their institution's website showing the most recent people to join as a way to encourage others to do so. Or they may be running their own site and using Wild Apricot for membership management and embed a list on their public website.

    When developing this we would have to consider how to make sure that people could opt out of having their name shown on the list.

    What do you think? Is this something that your organization could use. Also, would something like this be handy as a gadget that you could place on your own site?
