Our organisation uses Volgistics, in which we have linked Wild Apricot and Volgistics through manual IDs. It doesn't affect us that greatly since around 10-15% of our volunteer base are members, however if this number was larger it would be a headache - the amount of manual data entry we would have to do.

We've found that we really need a single system to manage donors, volunteers and members and soon we're going to be looking at options however.

In a perfect world a single centralized system would be great but they are very costly.

    www.volgistics.com

One day I see Wild Apricot being the solution for this.

I think volunteer tracking would be a great addition to the future of Wild Apricot but we need to remember that Wild Apricot is a Membership Management System. They do this great, and there may be other alternatives to WA that do Volunteer Management better.

I really value Wild Apricot's effort they do with software updates for Memberships however if they invest in Volunteer Management, our membership updates will come slower.

Please people, look at alternatives to WA for Volunteer Management. Since configuring WA to manage Volunteers is a MASSIVE project which would consume a lot of WA's resources.

For now, use the software as it was design, try not to appropriate it for other uses.

Even though it is not a direct implementation, I hope this could be helpful:

We just launched integration with Integromat platform, which helps to build automated workflows. We also provide several templates for quick start, and one of them allows to copy google calendar events into WA events. So if you share a google calendar for events submission, then the scenario could copy submitted events into your Wild Apricot account.
You can try this integration by this link https://www.integromat.com/en/integration/2275-copy-google-calendar-into-wild-apricot-events

We have started analysis for this issue, and it seems that key problem is how Wild Apricot handles level changes close to renewal date. The system is currently designed to collect the full new level amount and set renewal date according to new level renewal policy. All prepaid amounts for old levels are disposed. Moreover, since no prorating occurs, the new level might be effective only for a few days.

As a first step, we suggest to redesign how level change is working and add prorating there:

    - Level would be changed immediately, as now - Remaining portion of old membership level payment will be applied to new level - For new levels with specific renewal date (e.g. annual levels with renewals Jan 1st) apply the pro-rating settings for new applications: - Allow member to pay only a pro-rated amount of the new level fee (e.g. six months before renewal…

I have been experiencing issues with the changing membership level system, this would most probably solve the process of changing levels. Currently it has to be done manually by admin.

I believe this would be useful for us to have since we only deal in within a single currency.

    I really need this too.

I need to be able to print out communications that have been sent to members, for instance. I need to be able to print out a formatted version of the membership activation email as well as the payment receipt for some members that don't have email addresses - or prefer to have physical copies of communications posted out.

    http://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/8826349-functionality-to-generate-physical-letters

Add a Print button next to 'Save as template' & 'Send again' in the email log area that prints the email that was sent out.

I believe this would be similar to how you can re-print invoices, in which it generates a printer friendly version of the invoice to print.

I can see this would be useful, not for my organisations use but useful in general.

In response to your question, these are my reasons to wanting to be able to sort number fields.

I have an amount of financial information that I was able to consolidate from a relational database into a flat spreadsheet that can now be imported into Wild Apricot. This contains history for each contact such as the first date they became a member, amount of money they have contributed to memberships over the years, the number of years they contributed as a member before the date that Wild Apricot began being used. Etc.

    This is an example of the data that I would be importing;

Member Since Last Date of Membership Years Contributed Membership Contributions Donation Contributions Last Donation Date In Volunteer System
    1/07/1990 30/06/2014 19 $606 $0
    NO

Since there are over 12000 contacts in the legacy database from history we are only importing 500 or so, so there will be an archive which we're going to refer to in excel however it would be good to have easy to refer to details about the active contacts on Wild Apricot and be able to create advanced searches according to those details.

To be honest it is a workaround to empower users with the historical information, however it would be useful. Otherwise, I'm happy to just keep it as a flat reference with no sorting capabilities. I understand and that there are many more important things to be working on than a workaround for something that doesn't directly improve the current processes in WA.

For instance, I can see that this already exists to sort donations captured within WA.

I would rather that development be put towards functions that I really need like recurring donations.

I have been looking for a solution to migrate financial history into Wild Apricot and I have found an easy solution however it requires that one or two small features be implemented.

I would like the ability to create custom Common Fields, with the option of number formatting in addition to the current text formatting. I would also like the ability to create custom advanced searches using this number field as the criteria.

The reason for this is I am importing a bit of financial donation history for pre Wild Apricot and want to be able to use the fields to sort number amounts, namely currency.

For example, they are currently text fields and the only queries you can create are for text based queries, 'contains, is, does not contain, is, is not' etc.

With number formatting, we could create queries that use, 'is less than, greater than, equal.' etc.

What do you think Wild Apricots, or is this actually a thing and I've missed it?

    Is this feasible?

    Hi there,

It seems that the functionality of printing email templates still isn't available.

What I would like to do is similar to how you can reprint invoices and payment receipts, but instead with emails from a contact's email log (membership activation) or email templates.

I could imagine it would happen like a print preview. I understand that most users will receive email copies however a large majority of them prefer to have a physical copy of proof of membership.

    Is this possible?

Bulk changes would be great, it would be nice to be able to make bulk membership approvals possible. So as to not do them individually.

This would be beneficial to have in advanced searches.

I needed this today with a search, luckily there was a very simple workaround exporting the list to excel then filtering out the results however it can get messy.

I needed to make a search for Members within an area to apply for funding.

    Where

Postcode was a list of ANY postcodes in that district (10 or so)

    AND

    Membership Level is ACTIVE.
