An error occurred while saving the comment Tony C. commentedthe poll feature could be targeted to specific members of the club if it allowed for the use of saved searches (from both members and contacts) along with member groups.
at the end of the day, a list of members is only that - a list. and whether that list is created using a member group or a saved search - it's still only a list that will be used with the poll.
However, the granularity of that list, now that's what makes the list important and poll results extremely useful.

An error occurred while saving the comment Tony C. commentedIf the poll feature were to seriously be considered as an election tool (eg vote for new club management team), the poll results must be beyond reproach/question. it would provide credibility as to the accuracy of the poll results when using a system gadget or similar to publish the results to membership/wesite/email blast etc without human intervention. since current results must be published with human intervention, there will always be the critic that will question the results have been changed.

the system has the process to email non-responders already built in.
the process I am referring to is that of scheduling events. So why not treat this the same as an event. By that I mean that an event has a number of announcements that are scheduled and sent ONLY to members who have not responded to the event announcement.
In this case, the first announcement is the one sent as the initial poll email/announcement. the second (and possibly, the 3rd ) announcement would be sent on a specific date only to those that have responded to the poll.
