    Hello there!
For this purpose you can use following snippet in 2 ways:
    <script type="text/javascript">(function() { var container = document.querySelector('.loggedName') || document.querySelector('.loginBoxProfileLink'); if (container) { document.write(container.innerText.replace(/[\n\r]/g, '') || 'Guest'); } else { document.write('<div class="userClass_MemberName"></div>'); WA.PageParsed(function() { var container = document.querySelector('.loggedName') || document.querySelector('.loginBoxProfileLink'), out = document.querySelector('.userClass_MemberName'); if (out) { out.innerHTML = (container ? container.innerText.replace(/[\n\r]/g, '') || 'Guest' : 'Guest'); }}, window);}})();</script>

    1) Paste it into Custom HTML gadget.
    2) Paste it during editing Content gadget by inserting snippet (Button "<S>")

It is save to try ;)

Thank you Randall for bringing this up.

Thing is that the code that handles html formatting was written several years ago and involve 4 components: Our server code handling database exchange, Tidy service, CodeMirror service and Browser component itself. While we control our code and semi-control Tidy and CodeMirror, we have no control over browser component.

So frankly we do not know why it does not work the first time. And as the contour worked as a whole we did not payed attention to it. Especially with browser changes it was hard to follow them.

But you brought this up and today we discussed it within our team we think that time have changed since the last time we did it. And maybe we can easily fix this.

Now we can not promise you that we will fix this soon or that we will have the exact fix date for you. But what we can promise you is that we will look at it during our work with next new features and maybe we will find a quick way to fix it. We will update this topic as soon as we do this.

Once again, thank you for bringing this up. Without it we would of continue to neglect it.

Thank you for bringing this up.

Problem is that one of the external components in our system that we use to validate and repair html code works inconsistently with modern browsers. We will run an investigation on this behavior and put it in our road-map. Ether we will find the source of the problem or we will think on replacing this component altogether.

For now, one can always use custom html gadget. It does not provide WYSIWYG functionality and does not colorize the code but custom html gadget always saves your formatting style.

    Regards,

    WA CMS crew

Last year WA made shift into giving teams more freedom on what improvements they should do. This particular topic is very important to CMS crew and we were planning on introducing big changes there, but at the end of the year a bigger issue came up. We decided that we need to pay even more attention to the wishlist and review problems that are in the top of our list. Unfortunately in result this topic was left out of scope and we feel guilty that we did not communicated it here clearly.

This year CMS crew was focusing: Voting/Election, Restrictions to file access, ability to upload files images to blogs, forums and forms (registrations and membership) and Classifieds.

Next quarter we will be planning our next year issues and "Ability to preview changes before publishing" is very high in our list. Right now we are working on collecting information to prove importance of this issue.

This is the status so far.

Yes, I am sorry, to resolve this issue we had to make changes within our internal systems and that postponed the issue itself.

We are on the finish line with all internal changes and this particular issue is one of the first we will move forward. We have plenty of analysis data ready and moved forward with designs but we still need our developers to make progress in this field.

We made couple of small CMS changes to cheer you up in the next couple of months that we were able to squeeze between refactoring and hope to give you progress on this particular issue in the first quarter of the next year.

    Sincerely yours,

CMS and web site customization team (AKA CMS crew)

HTML of any WA gadget can be reached with Theme override instrument.
Here is our help article that describes it: https://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/Theme+overrides

Also, if you have one particular element you want to change, you can do it with CSS customization.
Here is the article about it: https://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/CSS+customization

    Hope that helps

    Hi,
Now we are working on Voting/Election feature that will allow admins to create polls in Wild Apricot. For the first early stages we want to release an ability to share a poll by the link, but right after that admins would be able to publish their polls on web page by gadget.
In the meantime all functions are available only for admins but in the future those functions are very likely to be available for members, too.
If you have anything to say regarding this feature you can follow the Voting/Election wishlist thread by the link below:

    https://forums.wildapricot.com/forums/308932-wishlist/suggestions/10189428-voting-elections

    Hi,

Actually, this functionality is already present in our system, but there is a small peculiarity.
If you insert an image that is located in "Pictures" folder or in any subfolders inside "Pictures" folder, then this folder is remembered, and every time you try to insert new image, you will be returned to your previous location. But if previously inserted image located not in "Pictures" folder (nor in it's subfolders), next time you open insert image dialogue, then you will be returned to root of "Pictures" folder.
The same with documents. System remembers last used path used for attaching files only if they were inserted from "Documents" folder or from it's subfolders.

This behavior was made when we made last changes to insert image dialog. We would appreciate, if you could give us more details on how would you like system to behave in this case.

Also, you can ask Wild Apricot support team to revert unnecessary theme switches or make a clone of your web site for you to experiment on.

Sorry to hear about it. We are aware of the problems with theme switching and especially additional demo-content copying on multiple theme changes. Unfortunately we are not focusing on this workflow this year. It is very high in our priorities though.

If you are already decided on what theme you might want, then you can always open a new trial with the same email and make website from the scratch. It is easier sometimes, when you already know what to do.

    Hope this helps.

    Martin,
I think you will enjoy our responsive themes with mobile panel that replaces the menu bar and login options on mobile devices such as Terra, Firma, Tinted Tiles and Building Blocks.
Terra and Firma themes have an option to hide pictures in mobile view.
Tinted Tiles and Building Blocks themes provide an excellent starting point for designers and others who want to quickly build a flat and modern site. They have Advanced colors and styles customization with three typography sets: basic, typography for dark backgrounds, and typography for light backgrounds.

Hi, Gail. In one of our next releases we are planning to introduce "sandbox" feature that will allow to play with real website content and switch themes before publishing. Actually, this one to high-priority tasks for CMS team.

Thanks to Barbara, here is current workaround:
    --
TO ADD A SITEMAP.XML to a WA SITE:
Create a new folder under file mangement called sitemap.
Then upload your site map to this folder.
Sumbit your site map to Google, it will look something like this yoursite.com/resources/sitemap/sitemap.xml

A good place for free google sitemaps is:
    xml-sitemaps.com

I have merged several similar suggestion together – they all about previewing various site functions from members perspective. For example, wen pages, registration and application forms, etc.
