      I would also like to be able to do this. We're looking at using a forum as a form of a newsletter so that there's a permanent record online as well as something that members can subscribe to.

        I would also like to be able to trigger member activation emails to go out with a checkbox or pushbutton.

          Yes, this would be enormously helpful. For instance, when I'm sending out emails to members who might be close to a convention in Oregon, I want to alert people in CA, ID, OR and WA. At the moment I either have to send four emails or select "is not" for all the other states.

            I wanted to add my voice to the requests for a Logout widget. As other people have noted, it is awkward to have to go back to the member profile and scroll down to log out. Even just moving the logout button to the top of the page would be a good intermediate step.

            I'd like to see a username and password field in a small frame that I can drop into a menu. Oddly, many of our members are disoriented without having a visible way to login, even though the way you have it set up is so easy.

              May I add to the request the ability to move a post that is in the wrong thread or forum? Merging threads when the same topic is in two different places would also be handy.

                  Key Change:
                  We’ve extended the ‘Event calendar’ gadget settings by adding a new option ‘Members-driven events’ – allows members to submit their events from the calendar page by using a simple form.

                  We’ve also included a few features to help you organize and restrict these events. These changes are:

                  1) Restrict the submitting events option to specific members
                  2) Automatically assign tags to these events so you have easily include/exclude them from various calendars
                  3) Options to send a confirmation email to the submitter and or administrator
                  4) Separate filter in Event list for administrator to show Members events
                  5) Members that submit events can access a list of the events they’ve submitted to view, edit and delete them

                  Excluded for now:

                  1) No options to submit events with advanced registration options. Only minimal details, like Title, Description, Dates and Location. However an administrator can add…

                  We use the event function to promote member readings and to post notices about upcoming conventions. None of which are things that require registration. At the moment, I've created a bandaid by having members fill out an online form which sends an email to a calender moderator, who then cuts and pastes the information into the event calendar.

                  I would very much like a functional page with a stripped down version of the Event Calendar dashboard, that would exclude the registration tabs.
