In January, 2012 I requested, like others have, that something be done about the problem of members changing their membership level, paying the fee, and believing they are renewing for the following year. We are now coming up to our 2013 renewal period (our fixed renewal date is Jan. 1) and this problem hasn't been addressed. I know we will have students changing their membership level from student to regular and they will be thinking they are renewing until 2015. When they start getting overdue renewal notices, we will receive queries from them that they already renewed.

Please address this issue. As he previous post said, it is a very important for effective membership management.

    Many thanks,

    Bob

Thanks, Dmitry, that's wonderful! Hopefully, something can be done before our organization's renewal period starts next November. Cheers — Bob

    Thanks, Dimitry,

I've talked to a couple of our members who've had this problem. They logged on to their account and went to their Profile where they were given the opportunity to chose two buttons, which are both on the same page:
    1. Renew unti 01 Jan 19132. Change Membership Level

Since they wanted to change their membership level, they chose no. 2 and paid the fee, assuming that this would also renew them for the coming year. Someone else also changed from a regular membership to a institutional membership bundle and had the same problem.

This is a huge problem for us. Right now, I am dealing with numerous emails from members who are questioning why they are still receiving membership renewal notices when they believed they renewed they already did––just at a different membership level. Basically, here's the problem:

    1. Member receives a renewal notice
    2. Member renews at a different membership level, e.g. a student member graduates and becomes a regular member
    3. Membership renewal at a new level is not recorded as a true renewal
    4. Member continues to receive renewal notices and finally contacts our web administrator

Last year, we dealt with this same problem, but I assumed it was just a glitch, now it's returned.

We make a huge amount of effort to make all the experiences our members have on our website good ones. It seems like a simple fix, just enable the system to accept renewals at different levels.

This is a big problem for us and I hope it will be corrected soon.

    Many thanks,

    Bob Blesse

Please add an option to add approval for renewals.

Our organization has student members. When a student becomes a member they must submit a valid identification that says she/he is a student enrolled in an academic institution. This is done by sending the documentation as an email attachment. Because of this requirement, all new student membership must be approved manually by a website administrator.

However, there is no option for approval of student renewals, so a student who has graduated and is no longer eligible for a student membership could simply keep renewing as the student level, because there is no way to monitor this.

I've asked about this before. Please consider it.

    Many thanks,

    Bob Blesse

I hope it will happen sooner than later. We were very excited when we saw that we had the capability for members to create albums. We are a national organization for academic book artists with several hundred members and were hoping to offer the opportunity to create albums as a member benefit.

Many of our members create beautiful work and would love the opportunity to create albums so others could see this work. But not having something in the member directory to indicate they have an album makes the feature essentially unusable for us because no one would know where the albums are without going into each member's individual profile. Our member directory is only accessible to our members so it would be wonderful if someone could browse through the directory, see who has an album, then go to that profile and view their images. Without this feature, what's the point? We'll just have to put announcing the album feature to our members on hold until there's a better way to access the feature. It's a great idea, but just needs a better access point.

    Many thanks. -- Bob

Our organization holds a large annual conference which has a number of components. We'd like a feature that enables us to cap the number registrants that can sign up for these, e.g. tours, shuttles, etc.
