There is another thread / wish related to this. This is a must have for users trying to communicate / remind members about meetings, etc... Yes, there are email reminders (which we use), but have found less and less members checking their emails on a daily basis.
After initial analysis we decided to remove this feature from 2017 plans. Right now we don’t have clear understanding when this feature will be taken into development.
For a site that incorporates event planning into its services, it should absolutely have a text messaging option. The fact that it was decided two years ago not to pursue adding the feature is crazy! People are less and less likely to check emails. Text and text reminders are the most efficient and effective way to notify (and remind) members of their meetings and or functions.

Sorry for the late update.
The first step was finished and emails can now be carbon copied to contact’s alternative emails. To do so the contact fields which store the alternative emails must be explicitly marked on the email setting page.
Unsubscribing will unsubscribe all alternative emails simultaneously because they all belong to the very same account. The person clicking “unsubscribe” is warned about this on the unsubscribe page.
For now we paused the development of this feature. but not for good. :) So I’m changing this wish status back to “collecting comments”.

Our member base is primarily business owners and CEOs. Many of them request that we also copy their assistants on correspondence, as their assistants often keep their calendars, etc... We do not need this for all of our members, just for the ones that would like to have their assistants in the loop on all communication.
It would be ideal if WA would make adding a second email option for communication to "one" record available in one of their upcoming updates.
I know about a year ago this was not an option, but I was hoping that the system upgrade would allow administrators of the site to export a list of members who have subscribed to a particular forum. The only way I can see to do it now, is to manually look into each record. This is clearly not an efficient method and certainly not the best use of my time.
Along those same lines, administrators need the option to "opt-in" members to forums. As they are members of our group, there are certain forums that are specifically related to them. Members should obviously have the ability to opt out, but by adding them when they join, they will immediately be involved in all relevant forums.
