This may be already be possible by adding a tag under Notes for the contact, then create an advanced search looking for that tag. Save the search and then reuse the search when creating an email and picking the recipients.

Seems like a very obvious feature that should have been implemented when this suggestion was raised almost 11 years ago. Contacts are of little use if they cannot be grouped for target emails, or for adding to a registration type for an event.

Find it hard to understand that this if this is not configurable. During the COVID epidemic most events are online, we need the email adress of guests in order to send out the connection details.

Thank you to everyone who shared feedback on this idea. It shaped the design, and gave us the detail that made it workable.
The feature is in development. Here is what it will include:
- A new Event organizer role, separate from Event manager, so someone can run specific events without access to the rest of the account and other events.
- Three access levels, chosen per event: Check-in assistant, Registration manager and Event lead. Each level has own restrictions and designed accordingly.
- Organizer(s) are assigned on the Event details by Full administrators and Event managers.
- Organizers can’t see Contacts, Financial information, Emails and other pages. Only assigned events.
- A separate release of the mobile Admin app will follow shortly after the web release, to support the new role.
We’re aiming for a release in late November or December 2026. Dates may still move as we finish testing. We’ll post here…

I am overall happy with wild apricot as a platform, but concerned that there are a number of issues raised where with a lot of interest from the user community, but where nothing has happened even though the issue was raised many years ago (almost 10 years in this case).
